Pastor Gene Norman
I was born again in 1967 in Alexandria, Louisiana while attending Southside Baptist Church.
1970 was called to Grace Church in Oakdale, La as worship leader where I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues... my prayer language.
1971 I met and connected with my first mentor, Murl Browning, from Sulfur, La.
he discipled me for four years
1974 I was called and ordained into the ministry of preaching the Word of God.
then took a correspondence Bible course from Rhema Bible School.
1976 I began a house church in Alexandria
1977 met my second mentor who discipled and trained me for 15 years
1979 moved to Las Cruces, N.M. as associate pastor of Church of the Crosses.
1982 called to Brewster, Ks. as pastor of Full Gospel Assembly
1985 We moved to Monroe, La. to begin a house church
1987 Then leased and moved into a building on Cypress street, WM and grew the church to over 200
1994 We moved to Alexandria to work as associate with my brother who is pastor of Church of ACTS, got involved with Promise Keepers, and taught men for 9 years taking some to conferences in Houston and Denton Texas, also New Orleans and Atlanta as well as small group settings around the state.
2003 moved to West Monroe to be close to our son and grandchildren, my wife died in surgery later that year. We were going to Pine Grove Church at that time.
....stayed there 3 years.
Changed to Christ Church and served as Elder for 4 years. And because my wife was gone and my son and his family were attending Family Church, I began to go there to be with them for 6 years.
Now I have connected with C.L.F. and the rest of the story is yet to be written.
