In the last village we visited and I remembered that Aaron-Sophia - my 10 year old daughter brought her stash of stuffed animals to me in a white bag as I was loading up my vehicle to leave. She said, “Daddy, please take these stuffed animals of mine and give them to the children in Honduras”…. I have to admit I had no idea that the gifts that we would distribute in that last village would impact these children in the way that it did! The picture really doesn’t do justice to what we witnessed. The immediate smiles of receiving a cuddly animal brought such warmth and comfort to these little girls. I was moved with compassion and so grateful that Aaron-Sophia played a part in our trip all the way back home from Louisiana. Later this same day we gave other toys away as the crowd grew. The entire village of about seventy-five people arrived at the chapel. We were giving some toys away donated from an organization that donates food, Tom’s Shoes, and boy and girl action figures. I remember one particular young adult lady stand-in front of me waiting for me to give her a toy. I looked for the child she was to give the toy to but it was for her— I stood there not knowing whether to give it to her since there were many children who still had not received a toy. I believe the Holy Spirit moved on my heart that this young lady may have missed out on many opportunities as a child and I immediately gave her the toy and she took it as if she were a little child!
