PURPOSE OF TRIP - Our purpose of going to Honduras was to train and encourage local pastors from the Olanchito region of Honduras and to have another part of our group going out into the highways and bi-ways of Honduras to share the Gospel and see what the Lord may unfold.
A TRIP OF EPIC PROPORTIONS - We were blessed to have Mario Venzor join us who happens to be very good friends with David Trapp. Mario is originally from Mexico, but is now an American citizen. He joined us on this trip and he has a TRUE gift for evangelism. From the time Mario boarded his plane in Colorado, until we landed back in Houston; he had led 153 people to Christ in about a 6-day venture. I was awestruck watching him operate in his gifting and there is more to come on how these conversions transpired!
Read John 21:11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
TRAINING REPORT The chosen curriculum to teach the local pastors was a book written by Andrew Murray entitled, “The School of Obedience”. There were three men designated to teach through this book: David Lindsay who lives near Redding, California; Dewayne Bell from Northwest Arkansas, and myself. These men, other church leaders and even children attended and sat ALL DAY and late into each night as we did our best to teach through this material with Pastor Dario’s young adult grand-daughters - Davina and Laura. The pastors were very receptive and on the second day of teaching, I opened up a Question and Answer time at the end of the teaching session. The congregants asked one question after another for about a solid hour of discussion. They were asking very pointed questions like, “What I thought the most important traits or qualities should be found in a pastor”? We had great discussion and I feel as though we were able to minister to some deep family needs as well. Teacher David Lindsay opened up about some struggles he had experienced with his adopted son from China and his vulnerability paved the way for about seven different family units to come down to receive prayer—and we did exactly that! We first prayed for David and then moved into praying for each family unit. This was such a beautiful portion of our training.
Another aspect of our training involved me taking a hand selected group of pastors and leaders through “Spiritual Warfare Training”. I was able to purchase 50 books on spiritual warfare that I use personally in America for prayer intensives. The title of the book I use is “Shadow Boxing” written by Dr. Henry Malone. Dr. Malone’s ministry sold the books to me for $1 in the Spanish language and I also google translated about twenty-seven pages of the outline I use that is in English into the Spanish language for the Honduran leaders and pastors. We took fifty folders of the outline and other important prayers to share with the Honduran Leadership. Approximately about 3 and 1/2 hours was spent to teach on spiritual warfare and the Honduran Leaders soaked in this teaching time. A special thank you to Erica Everding for sharing her Office Depot Discount Card to afford me to make around 1400 copies saving me approximately $250.00 in printing costs. Thank you, Erica,!!! Pastor Dario also gave four of these books and folders to a pastor at the prison in Honduras, so that he could incorporate this teaching into his ministry there.
