I had this really cool revelation during my devotion time this morning. Thought
you would appreciate it! Love you!
In Luke 9, when the disciples ask Jesus to send the crowd of 5,00 people away
to eat, Jesus responds with, "You give them something to eat!" (Luke 9:13).
Why is this powerful? I don't think Jesus was being sarcastic in this moment,
and I certainly don't think He was just saying it to hear the words come out of
His mouth. I think He was offering His disciples an opportunity to think from a
heavenly perspective. He believed in them. He empowered them to be a solution
to an impossible problem.
The sad part is, His disciples' first response was to present the earthly limitations
to the issue. However, I love how Jesus didn't criticize them for this mindset,
instead He took the reigns. He commanded them to seat the crowd, blessed
what little food was available, and them empowered the disciples to help perform
the incredible miracle of feeding 5,000 people (Luke 9:16). He was patient with
their unbelief, and instead showed them what was possible.
We have been empowered to be a supernatural solution to impossible situations!
Dream bigger than earthly limitations.
