School of prophecy Invitation
Good Morning Saints, Beginning Thursday, February 1, 2018; I believe that the Lord would have me teach on the gift of prophecy. I have done these six or seven times, and each time this gift has imparted to those that attend. We will begin at 6:30 AM and go for one hour. This will last for four Thursday evenings in a row. February 1, 8, 15 and 22. The first three sessions will be academic, the fourth will be quite dynamic with a manifestation of the Holy Spirit’s presence in prophecy; this session will be training and go longer. I would like to have no more than 10 volunteers for this teaching. I will take the first 10 that signs up. You may notify me; Robert Lindsay at 614-0092. “I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him and all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short of no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Corinthians 1:4 -7) “Pursue love, and desires spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.” (I Corinthians 14: 1) "But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11: 6) Only the hungry are filled with good things! In Jesus service Pastor: Robert Lindsay https://www.amazon.com/photos/share/4uu7YBlsxEzJWUXC27XCNqDRxcrbJK2vSA435s1HU3L
The Long View or the Wrong View
The Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were sojourners. While they made mistakes, they believed God and were willing to go into the unknown. God’s word to them was that through them, He would bless ALL NATIONS(Genesis 12:1-3). God made and confirmed His Covenant with them several times to do exactly that. He has kept His Word and has never deviated from Genesis 1:28. But often we do. Like the people at the tower, we build upon clay to reach the sky rather than be a light in the world. Israel carried Abraham’s mission to serve the world as priests, to intercede for nations (see Exodus 19:6). The prophets often rebuked Israel for losing sight of the long-range purpose (see Isaiah 43:10-11). They were not chosen for their superiority, they were chosen to be a light to the nations just like the Patriarchs (see Isaiah 49:6; Acts 13:47). In their failure to see God’s long-range purpose, they were scattered, dispersed…not once but twice (see Ezekiel 11:17). Those scattered Jews are called the “Diaspora,” the dispersed. We could call that dispersion “a judgment” and often a tragedy. Nevertheless, they were dispersed to God’s original intent to bless all nations, and in many ways said, they are being regathered a second time. Perhaps the greatest testimony to God is the fulfillment of His prophetic Word and purpose. When we forget that, we are headed for trouble. The Pilgrims The Pilgrims who sailed to America are aptly named because they resumed the Abrahamic faith and journey. They left conformity and tyranny to practice their faith. Upon landing, they resorted to a “collective” economic approach and socialism; that failed and led to starvation. When they changed to personal responsibility and an entrepreneurial economy, they flourished in abundance. The American Founders understood the essentially of personal freedom and responsibility; they established a system to divide the power of government and guarantee personal “liberty and justice for all.” While neither they nor their system were perfect, millions of people have and continue to migrate at great cost in order to reap the benefits of liberty. The flow of humanity to those shores is unprecedented. Human Tendency Our human tendency is to a human-centered vision, human glory, and to avoid personal mission that is outward. Collective responsibility, glory, and accomplishment are attractive to those who do not want to go out in faith. We love “towers” as Babel did or as Nebuchadnezzar did in building a great statue to his own glory. As our culture got away from God and His Word after World War II, we have increasingly moved toward a “let the government do it” or “let the church do it” attitude. Government, church, and other institutions can do a lot but they can never replace personal faith and personal mission. The government or church “institutional mentality” is built on bricks of clay, just as communism, Nazism or other “isms” have been. The motive may be better, but the loss of personal responsibility is dangerous. Who knows what will bring back a “dispersion” from central responsibility to personal responsibility? I would hope that it would be a return to Jesus and His Spirit. When that happens, the corporate culture is Jesus-centered and not human-centered. A Honduran Exorcism by Dwayne Bell
Ok, let me be transparent and real about this. I have no agenda or theology to exalt or to put down. Just the facts, Ma’am! That’s the goal of this short writ. One evening after a time of praying for the pastors, one of the Honduran pastors, Pastor Minellio, was praying for the sick and a few of our team noticed him shaking as he prayed for the one in need, the power of the Holy Spirit being felt strongly by all. Afterwards there was a time of fellowship under the arbor where we shared lunch and dinner with the pastors and their families. The team that noted the Honduran pastor shaking asked him about that? He then related the following story. He said that in his village in the mountains one of his friends seem to be depressed and at one point tried to take his life. This pastor and two more friends who loved the man, determined to fast and pray for three days for him with him being continually with them, witnessing their fasting and hearing their prayers. On the third day, according to this “shaking" pastor, their suicidal friend had a single, violent vomiting episode, and at the same time moment, the three praying friends were knocked to the ground by some unknown force!? After that moment their friend has been free of oppression, depression, and acts normally. And when our new "quaking" pastor friend prays for people and senses the Holy Spirit is near, he shakes as he prays. Indeed, he says when it happens to him, he knows or recognizes the Holy Spirit is near to heal or deliver or help. After watching him, and sensing the Spirit ourselves, we all believe it's true and happened just that way. This pastor is a very quiet, always kind, pleasant, and humble – even shy. We only report what we saw, and felt, and heard. :) The Lord be magnified for helping those in need. And for equipping and empowering His own to help or serve in the process. Amen “But if I cast out devils by the finger of God, the Kingdom of God has come near to you.” Luke 11:20 [Story related by Gary, Tim, and Whit who were witnesses.] -- Dwayne Bell www.afriendoftheking.com Pastor Training Report by Kevin Nugent:
I’d like to also add a section regarding the Pastor Training Conference – The Pastor Training Conference was a success and was received completely by all the Pastors. The feedback from the Pastors was all positive and encouraging. They were engaged, they were participating and reading the material as we were teaching. We were all in agreement that the study literature, books & study guides, we gave them would be tools they could continue to use in their villages and share with other members within their villages. The teachings would be an on-going study as they could read and in them over and over again. We left them with scripture references to different questions for each chapter of the book so they could go back and identify each Attribute within God’s Word. They are hungry for more of the Lord and eager to learn. We encouraged them Sunday morning as we passed out their certificates that we wanted to hear testimonies when we come back next year of how these materials have impacted your villages and how the people have grown in their walks with the Lord! God is so good, Kevin Nugent Jay Warford's Summary of what took place that Sunday Evening:
Hi Whit; It seemed like I witnessed an avalanche of love and sorrow as he (Daniel) launched into his grandmother’s arms after Tim prompted him with a simple question. He badly wanted to reconcile with her. What hit me personally was this young man shared, he was the same age and name as my son back home and my heart went out to him. I told him what I'd hope someone would tell my son if he went astray and I wasn't around to help him. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity." Jeremiah 29:11-14a NIV I told him God loved him, we loved him and God's pleasure was on him. To me, it was very evident. I'm looking forward to seeing how God works in his life! Thanks for letting me share, Jay Warford Wednesday, January 24, 2018: Testimony of Phillip
Mike Clark, Jerry Linhares, David Trapp and Curt Eberts were having lunch on Wednesday 1/17/18. During lunch, Curt got the impression that the four should go and offer prayer for Phillip, son of a close family friend. His kidneys and liver function failed. Needless to say, he was in serious trouble. We anointed Phillip, offered prayers of intersession; forgiveness of sin, baptism in the Holy Spirit, and complete healing. After the prayer and anointing was completed, a monitor over Phillip’s bed beeped and a message, “Infusion Complete” appeared on the monitor. Phillip passed into Eternity later that night. Upon our departure from the hospital, we all knew in our hearts that Phillip was touched by God, forgiven of all sin and made whole spiritually before the Lord called him home. James 5: 14-15 Is any sick among you?….. call for the elders of the church and let them pray over him, anointing him in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith (faith of those praying for Phillip and his family) shall save him, and the Lord shall raise him up and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Tim Smith's Summary of what took place that Sunday Evening:
I was very neutral walking into the situation not having knowledge of backdrop details, only snippets of observations and overheard comments. My first impression of Daniel was that of an angry little thug. But, I also thought he must have felt awkward while his grandmother was giving us a summary of his behavior in his hearing and us talking around him. At the moment my thinking was of information gathering only when asking him “what he thought of his grandmother’s comments?” to which he replied “I’m feeling very anxious”. Then when asked “If he was interested in changing the course of his life?”.... he broke into his grandmother’s arms! While at the time my questions seemed only interrogatory, in hindsight, given their effect I think maybe those questions were orchestrated by The Holy Spirit. Then as I had been praying prior to our trip for us to operate in unison according to our spiritual gifting’s, one by one Daniel was ministered to according to The Holy Spirit’s directed Breeze. When I was praying for him, a similar aura fell over me to that of when praying over my grandson Trenton on his 13th BD. In that room it felt as if we were engulfed in God’s Glory Cloud! Later that evening at the alter I felt prompted to pray again over Daniel for a godly Father figure to enter his life to mentor, mold, coach and rebuke. Having now written this, I’m feeling compelled to continue lifting Daniel in prayer and looking forward to learning of his progress. Peace, Tim Smith Dwayne Bell's Summary of what took place that Sunday Evening:
[I'll start my impressions below, but I'm reminded that it really started with Kevin a day or two earlier when he connected spiritually with the grandmother. Then the desire seemingly started to grow in her (or desperation) to have her grandson delivered and believed we could pray to that end with success?] Sunday night our team, one-by-one, but rather quickly, were summoned into the CR room beside the main meeting room, as the main meeting was beginning, to pray for Daniel, his mother, his grandmother, and his brother -- the focus being Daniel, and the plea for prayer from the grandmother. Daniel has lately struggled with rebellion, bad friends, and being held back two years in school for bad behavior. [1] Seemed to me after we all knew what the problem was and heard the grandmother pour out her heart with Daniel standing there reasonably emotionless... [2] We all, as one circled him and his family, with Tim giving voice, to what I was thinking (probably all of us?), “What do you think about what your grandmother just said? Do you want help, or to change?” [3] Immediately, he took 2-3 quick steps to his grandmother and embraced her for a long time with tears? Apparently broken and desiring to repent or change his path! [4] My impression was that the Holy Spirit in each of us circling him, already in silent or low volume prayer, ushered in the Spirit and drove the darkness away, so that he could and wanted to act. To change his ways. To express his sadness for hurting the ones he loved. [5] There was much prayer going on from the team, and perhaps from the family as they embraced, sobbing, for a long time... the services next door fully underway... [6] Whit suggested (a great suggestion and just what I was feeling needed to happen) that the men of the team pray for him and speak words to him from the Lord or the Father's heart [7] Mine went something like this: (a) You're young, but you're a man, and you know it. (b) You're a leader of men too, and you know it. (c) You're wondering how you can make this change you've voiced and shown us you want to make? (d) There are people standing all round you praying for you now that have been in prison and in addiction. They have been set free and helped by the Holy Spirit, and now can see, think, and act clearly -- with courage. (e) You can too, and be successful with the help of the same Holy Spirit. (f) Now I charge you like David did his son Solomon when he was to become king in his father's place, "Now show yourself a man!" (g) You can, and I pray for you that you will do it! (h) Blessings from Him. I love you. [8] Then I hugged him tight and held him for several moments. I think Tim followed me and I heard a good bit of what he said and it was great! I'm sure each man was given something from the Lord to share and pray that was great!! I think Tim's prayer later on that God give him a strong father figure that would "stand toe-to-toe with him in guidance and accountability, in love," was a great prayer and one we all need to stand anew together again in agreement-- https://www.amazon.com/photos/share/4uu7YBlsxEzJWUXC27XCNqDRxcrb JK2vSA435s1HU3L |
