(John 4:29)
I once had entered a new position in my job and had two young lieutenants stop by
to visit me before they deployed to Iraq. In the middle of conversation with them,
the Holy Spirit imprinted the word “death” in my mind. This was extremely troubling
to me, and I recall wondering what this could mean? So, while I halfheartedly
listened to them talk, my mind was seeking the Lord for wisdom. I asked God for a
door to interject the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ to them, because I realized
that one or both young officers may not be around much longer. As we said good
bye and I watched them walk away, I remember (in prayer) binding and breaking
any operation that this spirit of death had over one or the both. I recall saying, “May
this NOT be so, in the name of Jesus Christ!” Several years later, I was in Iraq, and
I was pondering this event in my mind wishing I could remember who those
lieutenants were that day in my office. While pondering this, a young Captain came
and asked if he could join me in my walk, and it was at this time the Holy Spirit spoke
to me saying, “He is the one.” When confirming this with this officer, I began
unashamedly sharing this testimony with him, and while listening he showed me
the goose bumps on his arm. You see, it was several weeks after that one day
meeting that he was blasted into the air by a road side bomb explosion. All said,
death did not have its way with him, and this testimony caused him to encounter a
real and loving God through the words of a servant. Praise the Lord!
In Christ,
