Day 5 – A DAY OF FOOD DISTRIBUTION by Whit Bass

4/30/2019

Day 5 – A DAY OF FOOD DISTRIBUTION - Large bags of corn were delivered to 6 different locations where there had been flooding. We were OFF ROADING in a small little car trailing a dually truck – our windshield time probably took 5 hours altogether. We left at 8 AM that morning and returned around 830-845 pm. Rayland Trisler helped out the African men to load each bag of corn to distribute. This work was Gritty and dusty work in the hot 🥵 sun by RAYLAND.
Our first 3 stops were spent praying for the sick as we were giving out the food. Our 2nd and 3rd stop we literally conducted a healing and equipping service. We likely saw around 35 touched and healed by the Lord at the 2nd and 3rd stops alone. We had a man with blurry vision whose sight improved; ear pain that was healed, all types of body pains healed. Dr. Mike, and Jimmy Eley and I each got into the action at stop 2.
Then at stop 3 Mike gave it to Jimmy and I to lead. So, Jimmy and I prayed for 3 teens/ young adults. Once they each were healed of their pain, we coached them on how to pray for the next 4 in need of healing. Then of those next 4 they helped lay on hands on the next group. This continued until all had been prayed for.
I asked if anyone else had a need before we left this location and one young man had been having nightmares so I prayed for those nightmares to stop.

At the other locations we prayed blanket prayers of healing and since we were in a hurry to make each stop before nightfall we had to hurry and move from stop to stop without getting reports of healing.
All in all, we probably prayed for over 200 people this day.
Thankfully at each stop 🛑 we made time to play with the children while adults received their aid. Many received candy, balloons, pennies with a cross ☦️ punched through, marbles, until we ran out of all that we had. MUCH FUN WAS HAD BY CHILDREN AND ADULTS.

Day 4 in Malawi

Day 4:
DISTRIBUTION DAY OF FOOD AT CHIKWAWA
Jimmy Eley preached a message to the village of Chikwawa - our second day in this recently FLOODED VILLAGE. Jimmy gave a very illustrative message for the Malawi Men and women with the use of humor and engagement of the congregation to be involved during his message. Jimmy spoke on the importance of the Holy Spirit empowering us for a life of Victory and even went so far as giving instruction to rebuke and forbid the enemy to have power in their lives.
Through Dr. Mike Walkers efforts of requesting financial aid from Monroe / West Monroe we were able to distribute aid to the local congregation.
At the end of the message Jimmy called for a response. Some came for prayer. I was asked to help on 2 specific occasions. One case was to pray for a man who had been bleeding from his male organ for the last 3 years. Our team gathered around him and prayed for healing and also cancelled any curses that may have been in operation.
The 2nd occasion involved a very young girl who looked to be age 12 or 13. She had been dealing with epilepsy and pain in her stomach and in her neck and throat area.
Again, our team along with some of the Malawian pastors gathered around the young girl to pray. I commanded any spirit of error or deaf and dumb to leave her as well as all pain to leave. She was better after our first prayer but we prayed once more since she still had pain that was now in the throat area. (The pain may have moved during our prayer). After our second prayer there was no sign of pain and she was overcome with emotion. Later after lunch I saw her walking through the village with a HUGE SMILE ON HER FACE.
While aid was being distributed inside the church building Dr. Mike Walker walked out to play with the children outside with balloons, bubbles, candy, etc. About 25 children. The kids were so responsive to our playing with them and we had a BLAST. I’m not sure that they get a lot of attention due to parents having to work just to survive day to day.
We then left this village around 2 pm and traveled for about 1 1/2 hours to our next area. While approaching our destination we were driving past an automobile accident scene where a man had been ejected through his window. We soon saw a group of Malawians carting this man to load him into the back of a truck - no ambulance ... blood profusely bleeding from his head. Dr. Mike and I prayed for God to spare him and to live and not die but we continued driving and did not stop. Sometimes when we are in a moment like this, we don’t always respond the way we would have we not been in shock seeing the blood run down his head. Everything was happening so fast. Though we prayed for his life to be raised we realized we should have stopped and prayed and then made a decision as to whether we would get out or not.
Our destination happened to be near the 2nd largest mountain in Africa known as Mount Mulanje. The mountain ⛰ is beautiful and majestic.

Day 3 (1st full day in Malawi)

Day 3 (1st full day in Malawi)
Leaving Blantyre to go to the village of Chikwawa
On our way to the villages from Blantyre Dr. Mike Walker and I stopped at a gas station in our vehicle number. Dr. Mike Walker and I began to dialogue with a young worker named Ian. Ian was skittish about us praying with him while at work. However, we did get to pray with a young lady worker named Kathy. She requested prayer for financial provision. Dr. Mike and I prayed for her about this.
Soon after praying with Kathy we prayed for a young man named Ben who walked over to us and requested prayer for freedom of a stronghold. We prayed for Ben to be set free. Then I asked Ben if he was a follower of Jesus Christ. He indicated to me that he was not. So, I led Ben to Faith in Christ today.
By this time Rayland and Jimmy also joined in with Dr. Mike and I to minister with other gas station workers. It was FUN ministering to the employees.
We also stopped one other time at an intersection and I called a Presbyterian Minister wearing a collar over to come and receive prayer. He walked over to receive and while doing so we gave him an Evangecube. (A cube designed to share the Gospel in Pictures)
From here we drove to Chikwawa Village. In talking with Pastor Mark from Malawi Africa he told me there has been an influx of MUSLIMS in Malawi since 1994, which at that time there were 72,000 Muslims. Today there are 5 million Muslims in Malawi. WE HAVE OUR WORK CUT OUT FOR US AS THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH. In Blantyre there are new MOSQUE’S ERRECTING.
So, my plan today at the Village was to train, equip and send all Christians to be ENDUED with the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT.
Rayland Trisler started us off this AM with a message on the Gospel. Rayland LAID A WONDERFUL FOUNDATION for me to be able to draw the net when it would become my turn to speak later on in the day. He then called for a response and MANY came for prayer. Many were being healed of pain in their bodies. I hope to get a specific report of TRULY ALL THE LORD DID THIS DAY. Our team prayed for the Malawians as they came forward.
While praying my approach was to pray for ONE to be healed. Then have that very ONE that was healed TO PRAY for the NEXT person in need of healing. I instructed each one that they were to continue doing this in their village ONGOING. Those healed to pray for the healing of others. I probably coached 7-10 Malawians to pray for others in pain and each ONE was healed of their pain problem in their body.
Then Dr. Mike Walker came forward to speak. His role was to speak about “each one reaching one” with the ONE FOCUS.
We then broke for lunch. We started back up at 2 PM and at this time we met outside the church building under a few shade trees due to how hot 🥵 the temperature was even for the Malawians. This decision really worked better for my message since I was calling the Malawian people to become more aggressive with their FAITH by taking what they were learning outside the walls of the church.
My message was focused on making the person whole. I spoke on the word SOZO - which means SALVATION and means = SAVED - HEALED - DELIVERED. In my message I called up first those in need of eternal life SALVATION. There were 12 that came to stand and PROFESS CHRIST AS THEIR SAVIOR. Then I prayed for these 12 to be CLOTHED and ENDUED with RESURRECTION POWER.
Then I called for any in need of HEALING. The number was so many that I simply had them stand where they were. I DONT KNOW AN EXACT percentage but it appeared that MOST that were standing in need of healing were touched and healed by a show of lifting their hands to indicate they had been touched.
Then I called for any in need of deliverance. About 8 to 10 came forward. I prayed for them individually to be SET FREE and WHOLE of their bondage.
Dr. Mike Walker suggested I have them renounce any involvement with WITCHCRAFT. The interpreter and I went back and forth on this. He felt that I should allow them to come to me one on one to do this. I felt we were to have any and all stand to renounce WITCHCRAFT at once. Dr Mike also suggested that I lead the entire crowd in renouncing as a village any WITCHCRAFT involvement. THE ENTIRE GROUP STOOD AND I LED THEM TO RENOUNCE WITCHCRAFT FROM THEIR PAST AND THEN FOR THE WHOLE VILLAGE TO BE FREE OF WITCHCRAFT.
Then at the end I had ALL PASTORS come forward to be prayed over by our team to be clothed and endued with power. To receive BOLDNESS NECESSARY to advance the KINGDOM OF GOD; to receive any and all spiritual gifts necessary. Our team prayed for an IMPARTATION OF GIFTS to take place in their life from the Holy Spirit.
THIS MOMENT WAS A HOLY MOMENT. As the 20-30 PASTORS received from our team, they then in turn went to get one person each and pray the same prayer for that single person. Then we continued with this process until every single person outside had been prayed for. THIS MEMORY OF THE WHOLE GROUP PRAYING FERVENTLY FOR ONE ANOTHER WILL FOREVER BE ETCHED AND BURNED INTO MY MIND. This is what we need to sweep through AFRICA TO COMBAT ☪️ ISLAM.
Then at the end of this time Jimmy Eley taught the children briefly and had the children laughing as he danced before them and had them join him in his HAPPY DANCE.

Day 2 of Mission Trip to Malawi

Day 2 Travels from Washington DC to Blantyre Malawi Africa

After boarding our plane, I sat in a Plane seat beside an African American man that grew up in New York City.  This man’s name is Emmanuel. I do not believe it was a mistake that he and I sat beside each other on the plane. He attends the Tuesday night prayer services at the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church. He also shared about his challenges of being in poverty as a child after newly having moved to America from Africa.   I was able to share with him about my mission trips this year and he seemed very interested in what I had to say and appeared to be moved. We visited for probably about 45 minutes initially. Then we read and rested for the rest of the flight until the end.   As the plane approached landing in 🇪🇹 Ethiopia Africa I told him that I would like to pray with him and he excitedly agreed to receive the prayer. After I finished praying with Emmanuel a lady in front of me turned to me and said “my husband is dying in the hospital right now. Would you pray for my husband?”  So, I invited Dr. Mike Walker who was sitting right beside the lady and Emmanuel to join me in praying for her husband to be healed.  These moments are what I call a ripple effect. Because I had tried to pray with the stewardess staff on the airline and I was told that it was against their policy to allow me to do so. But the Lord opened up three doors to pray with others that were non-staff workers. I also got to pray with another missionary going to a Refugee Camp in a different part of Africa and he was very encouraged by the prayer.

Flight from Ethiopia to Blantyre Malawi:

On this flight I was able to pray with 2 stewardesses located in the back of the plane. One gladly received the prayer, as she was a Christian. I prayed for her to be filled and endued with the power of the Holy Spirit. Then about five minutes later another stewardess who said she was Orthodox requested that I pray for her. And I prayed a very similar prayer for her to encounter Jesus like never before.

Then we stopped to fuel up in between these two locations in Zambia. At this point I had a Catholic priest sit beside me. We visited about Jesus most of the trip. I shared with him a book I’ve been reading by Randy Clark and in the book, it just so happened that’s there was a five-page segment about Revival and Renewal in the Catholic Church.   The Catholic priest’ name was Julius.  Julius joyfully received my prayer for him to be clothed and endued in the power of the Holy Spirit to walk with boldness, passion, and zeal.  I prayed for the Holy Spirit to baptize him in order to advance the Kingdom of God.

Once we arrived at our room for the night in Blantyre, Rayland Trisler and I met a young man by the name of John.  John was not 100% sure about his salvation so Rayland and I talked to him about this and led him to agree and profess that Jesus is Lord of his life. We then prayed for his eyes since they have been in pain as if someone was sticking a pin in his eyes.  We also prayed that he would be bold, clothed, endued and baptized in the power of the Holy Spirit. He has been very joyful and responsive since we prayed with him. I hope I will get a good report from his condition.

Night 1 Testimony in Washington D.C. Jimmy Eley
Jimmy Eley has had sleep apnea for 15 years and has had to use a CPAP machine at night to help him sleep. After arriving in Washington DC our first night he realized he didn’t have his CPAP machine. This was very stressful and he was anxious knowing he left the machine because he doesn’t sleep well without it and even if he could fall asleep, he has never been able to enter into a deep sleep. Here he is about to launch out into a very demanding trip physically to serve the African Pastors in Malawi as well as offer relief to those damaged from the flood.

Before bed time Jimmy came to me (Whit) and requested I pray for him. Jimmy and I reached to the heavens and prayed that the Lord would heal Jimmy’s breathing in his throat area. After we prayed Jimmy slept soundly the first night and every night following on our trip. Early on in the trip our team stayed in a very hot area where we were promised Air Conditioning. We were all so excited to have Air Conditioning. However, due to the poor electrical wiring in this motel the electricity could not carry the weight of the A/C compressors. Jimmy SLEPT EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO POWER and the rooms were HOT. None of us slept well that night but Jimmy SLEPT the entire night. WE GIVE ALL THE GLORY!!!!

Prison Ministry Testimony 4/16/19 – We had our normal group of speakers present tonight
and had over 60 men attending the service. After we all spoke, we ended with an
invitation and had several recommit their lives to the Lord and several asked for prayer. One in particular, his name is Seneca Yates, approached me asking would I pray for him. I asked how I could pray for him and If he knew Jesus as his personal savior. He began to cry and responded “Please pray for me a new way of life. My ways were not working; I give my life to the Lord!” I prayed with him and embraced him and expressed God’s Love for him! God is moving and softening the hearts of men in the UPDC!

Thanks,
Kevin Nugent

I got a call from Chris Stroud who just graduated from high school. He asked
me if I would carry him to Shreveport, Louisiana so that he could enlist in the
Air Force. He said that I was his last resort; I assured him that I would do this.
He is from a poor family and has not been fathered in the things of God; he
lives with his mother and stepfather. In the Air Force he would be trained and
air-conditioning and refrigeration then be able to get a college education after
that.

Monday June 16, 2015: I met with David Trapp, his son Davie, Curt Eberts,
Gerald Brinkley at the Hilton for breakfast. David and Betsie have completed
their course at Andrew Womack School in Colorado and they are praying about
making a change. They have their home up for sale and are considering leaving
the Atlanta area. We assured him that if he wanted to move back to North
Louisiana, we would welcome him into the Fellowship and also help him find a
place in ministry. His challenge is the sale of their home and his used-car business.
Betsie's father had passed away and they had gone to Little Rock Arkansas for a
memorial service then drove down to West Monroe.
