Five years ago today the Holy Spirit worked
through Gary Lively bringing me to the crossroad where my pain of addiction became greater than my fear of sobriety! A shoe manufacture decided to expand their operation and they chose an island in the South Pacific and sent possible managers to explore the possibilities there. When the managers returned, one of them said, “No one on this island wears shoes. I see no opportunity there to expand our operations.” Another one of the managers spoke up and said, “It is true, no one on this island wears shoes. This will be a great opportunity to expand our business because of the great number of potential customers.” Which one of these managers had a vision and which one only dwelled on the problem? In our world today, we have talk groups that explore the problems of the world and our nation. We become legalistic; desiring to invent new laws and regulations to govern our society. The law only sees problems but offers no lasting solutions. What I see and what you should see are opportunities set before us to minister Jesus Christ to a lost and hurting world. Everywhere I look, I see opportunities to minister Jesus Christ to others. I see hungry people groping for answers! I also see a great manifestation of the power of the Holy Spirit released from those that I associate with. We are filled with testimonies of amazing acts of power of the Holy Spirit. I am more excited today than I have ever been. Jesus, "Send laborers into the harvest. Thank you!" Good Morning Saints,
John 3:16 “….That whosoever believes in Him shall not perish ….” In a dream, I had a vision of the shipwreck scene of the Titanic. People were in the water after the ship went down and were clinging to floating debris in the cold dark waters. Some were clinging to the sides of lifeboats full to the point of sinking. People were slowly giving way to hypothermia and going under while others were being devoured by sharks. Suddenly a lifeboat appears on the scene with a Man standing at the helm throwing a lifesaver tied to a rope and calling out, “Grab hold of the lifesaver and I will pull into my life boat”. While most people were responding to the invitation, others refused to the invitation saying, “That's OK, I'm satisfied clinging to this board. It is all I need.” These people who refused the invitation eventually perished. Upon awakening, the interpretation came: The shipwreck of the Titanic is symbolic of the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden. We, their seed, are born in this fallen state and all need rescue. Jesus has come to our rescue us by offering His lifesaver. If we refuse, we will continue in this fallen condition and eventually perish. If we grab hold of the lifesaver, we will be rescued. Ms. Mable Lobrano shared with me in Church on a Sunday morning that she had been having pain in her neck and that she had not been able to find relief from visiting the Doctor or long term relief with Chiropractic care. She had visited Dr. Morgan and had x-rays, an MRI and an MRA on her brain. Everything came out clear but she continued to have pain and couldn’t move her neck for 2 to 3 weeks and it continued to give her trouble. She then went to Chiropractor in Winnsboro and he told her a vertebra was deteriorating and that she would likely continue to have pain without chiro care. She visited him for several days and it helped at first but the pain came back. She had been suffering with the pain for 2 to 3 weeks since going to chiropractor and was about to go back to the Chiropractor but she shared her need with me at church on a Sunday morning before going back. She and I prayed together while she sat in her pew before the service began. I prayed silently in the spirit for a moment and laid my hand on her neck area. I left that day not knowing whether the Lord healed her or not. About a month later Ms. Mable came to me with a big smile on her face to let me know that her pain left the next day and has not returned since we prayed! She was so excited as I was also!!! Mike gave me this testimony: A few days ago Whit Bass contacted him and asked if he would be willing to go and pray for a lady that he didn't know that lived in the Swartz area. All he had was her name, phone number and address. As they showed up at her door this single lady invited these strangers in. This lady had a lot of health issues, pain, depressed and was contemplating suicide. They began to encourage her and pray for her; her problems were not as great as she was imagining. Mike had her to stand, raise her hands in worship and receive all that the Lord had for her. The Lord showed Mike that she was having heat going down her back. Mike asked her if she feel heat going down her back. She said, "Yes, I feel it; I feel it," and began to weep. Mike told her that it was the Holy Spirit touching her showing her how much He loves you. They began to walk around the house praying together. She had been unable to walk or bend over. Mike asked her to do something that she couldn't do before they got there. She began to bend over and pick up the Dogs toys and said, "I couldn't do this before you all walked in." She was greatly blessed and encouraged. They were able to get her in a program with Dr. Henry Malone on Saturday. She joined us Sunday evening and before it was over she was laying hands on people praying for them.
Wednesday, July 8, 2015: This afternoon I received a call from Andy Magee. He and his family were vacationing in the windy city of Chicago. When calling, they were walking along a place called the magnificent mile. He wanted to tell me this story:
One evening outside of the hotel, a homeless man came shuffling by, and Andy spoke to him. The homeless man appeared nervous and kept looking back as if he was running from someone or something. As he quickly left, a large security guard came up afterwards. Andy mentioned to the security guard that the homeless man looked as if he was running from something or someone, and the security guard said, “Yes, he was running from me.” This guard then told Andy how he encounters problematic people like him almost on a daily basis in Chicago. He stated how he tries to be kind; however, many seem to react in less than a positive manner. Andy then asked the security guard if, by chance, he was a praying man, and he responded back, “I don’t know about all that.” Andy struck up a conversation with this security guard and came to find out that he was originally from Ethiopia and his grandfather was a Muslim cleric. The security guard’s name was Dante. In his pursuit of God, Dante had studied many religions and was very knowledgeable about different religions of our day. As Andy talked to him about faith in Jesus Christ, he asked the Lord this question, "Lord, there must be some way that I can minister to this man with power and not with words, help me." The Holy Spirit spoke to Andy and said this man has a problem with his knee. As the conversation began to close he told the Dante, "I would like to pray for you if you don't mind. Dante agreed to let him pray for him. Andy then asked Dante, "Dante, I have to ask you if everything is okay with you physically, because I sense that you may a knee problem. Is this right?” Dante, looking astonished, said "Yes I do. I suffered a bad accident with my left knee, and I now deal with constant pain and discomfort with it all day and night." Taken aback by how Andy knew that, he then asked, "How did you know that?!" Andy said, "Jesus lives inside of me and He speaks to me. He loves you." Andy then told Dante that he believed that Jesus wants to heal his knee, and he began to pray for his healing. While praying, Dante began to say, "Whoah…..Something weird is happening to my knee….What is that feeling I’m feeling down there?!......What's going on?!" Andy responded, “It is Jesus healing you. He loves you with a great passion Dante.” Being overwhelmed and ecstatic, Dante began lifting his leg moving it up and down walking on it. Not believing what just happened, Dante kept saying, “Man, the pain is gone! This is too weird!…..I am not feeling any pain! It’s gone!!” He then looked at Andy and said, “WHERE are you from?” Andy responded with a smile and said, “I am from Louisiana.” The word of knowledge and healing from the Holy Spirit reopened the door and re-ignited the exploration of Christianity for Dante. Dante could not deny the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. This event gave Andy further opportunity to talk more about Jesus Christ. Andy encouraged and told Dante that he needed to go to a Christian Church where they practiced the Christian religion, and to go to the pastor and ask him for a spiritually mature individual that could disciple him. He agreed that he would do this. Andy was excited about this testimony and wanted to share it with me. |
