Merry Christmas Saints,
In Genesis chapter 1 God said, "let us make man in our image, according to our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." This could be accomplished because God breathed his breath into Adam and he became a living being. The seed of God was planted in man's spirit; God was looking for a body to manifest himself through, therefore he created man. Man was given authority and dominion over the entire Earth through the indwelling seed of God. In Genesis chapter 2 verse 16 the Lord God commanded man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Satan came to woman and said, "You shall not die," and deceived Eve; she and Adam ate of the forbidden fruit. What died was God's life on the inside of them and it was replaced by death (Satan himself). In this act Satan himself gained dominion over the whole earth through mankind and that death has been handed down from generation to generation. In Genesis chapter 3 verse 15 God speaking to Satan saying, "I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heel." God had a plan to allow mankind to regain his dominion over the earth and this would be by a seed planted in a young virgin girl named Mary. God had to break into the human race with a body in order to restore Kingdom reign on the earth. This woman became Satan's worst nightmare! Judgment is a manifestation of God's holiness; therefore God placed our sins on Jesus Christ who paid for the sin's the whole world on the cross. In judgment God has to kill you because of sin or kill someone else that is sinless. So God in His loving kindness had to kill Himself or kill you. It pleased God to kill Himself and let you go free. Jesus made the way for us to have a new seed; that seed is Himself planted into us at new birth. In doing this he restored the rightful dominion of the earth to mankind. This only comes as a product of the resurrected seed of Jesus Christ being planted in us. Merry Christmas! In the coming year let the resurrected Jesus have dominion through you. In the life of Jesus he had to receive an anointing of the Holy Spirit, after that he went forth healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons, setting the captives free, bringing forth the kingdom of God. The same anointing that came on Jesus, we need to receive an order to have power and 2016. It’s the end of a season; a journey I feel extremely blessed to have walked. My time at Youth With a Mission has been phenomenal and is no doubt one of the best decisions I have ever made.
To recap what I’ve been doing, the first three months were spent in Montana attending lectures and getting to understand the character and nature of God more fully, discovering my true value in Christ, doing life with my school, and preparing as a team to go on outreach. The final two months we spent on outreach, during which we had the chance to share the gospel at elementary schools, build relationships in coffee shops, and support existing ministries through acts of service. All this, you played a part in. Without you, there would have been no going. You helped construct the reality of the dream God put in my heart. You were the fuel to the flame. And for that I am incredibly grateful. I can’t tell you how much it means to have had you guys support me both financially and through prayer. During hard times it meant the world knowing that I had a group of people in my corner cheering me on. So what happens now? Well, now it’s time to turn the page, to begin a new chapter, and I hear God calling me to return to YWAM Montana for a season, though this time in a much different role. Come January 2016 I will be returning to Montana on a six-month commitment to be part of the staff there. While the base there is a well-oiled machine, it still functions on the power of people who sacrifice their lives to serve there. No one receives a salary and everyone raises support to be there. They are essentially missionaries to the United States. As with every organization, in order for the gears to turn there needs to be people working in a wide variety of departments, from the kitchen, to maintenance, to hospitality, and beyond. Enter me… I will be working in the media department, which has a great need due to the recent departure of several people. This particular base has a wide variety of different schools that it offers to the hundreds of people that are trained and then sent out as missionaries each year. I will be partnering with the media department to help create videos for the different schools and departments on base, doing graphic design work, and maintaining the base website. The next six months will provide me with a unique opportunity to assist YWAM with my particular skill set, while also being able to learn and grow more as an individual. I am looking for people to support me as I step into this new vision. In order to be able to live and work at YWAM Montana I need to raise $800 dollars a month to cover the costs of living, which includes housing, food, gas, and car insurance. One-time donations are welcome, but what is really needed are people who can commit to supporting me for six months beginning January 2016. It would mean the world if you would prayerfully consider doing so. If you are interested in supporting me monthly, you can get in contact with me at: jacoblindsay1016@yahoo.com. Just a side note to those who want to support me, due to my specific staff role, donations are not tax deductible. Much Love and Thanks, Jacob Lindsay Thursday, December 17, 2015:
I had a hospice patient in Rayville I visited recently. When I showed up at the patient's house he had back pain that was so severe that it reflected on his face. I led him to his chair and asked if I could pray for his back while the patient was still standing. I laid my hand on his back, after praying I asked him if he could tell any difference in his pain level. He said that the pain level had gone from an eight to a six. I visited with him and then prayed again, I did this four different times. The pain level went from an eight to a six, then to a four then to a two and then zero. The man had cold chills going up and down his back as I prayed the third time. That day God touched him and healed his back physically. I returned a few weeks later to see the patient and the man told me that his back was no longer hurting, this was a non-solicited comment. I could tell that something was still bothering the patient. The patient told me that December was always a difficult time for him. The patient went on to share how 30 years ago on December 24 his 10-year-old son was shot in an accident with a shotgun by a first cousin before going rabbit hunting. For many years the father has blamed himself for this incident. Wondering if he should have allowed his son to go hunt. The son and the older brother never told their father that they were going to invite their cousin to join them. Because of this incident there was a lot of hurt between him and the other members of the family. The family to this day has never apologized to the father. His son was rushed to the hospital in Rayville; there the doctor worked on him for hours and hours, giving him hope and then no hope. His 10-year-old son didn't make it; he and his wife went home that night and went to sleep only to be woken up by a gunshot sound from next door by the family's cousin that shot his son. The cousin and his father were rabbit hunting right near the Patient's home. The patient was deeply hurt and enraged by this lack of sensitivity. Many years went by and because of this accident bitterness and hurt affected their marriage and the marriage eventually failed. The wife cheated on the husband, the father of the 10- year-old boy. Because of this most Christmas' seasons have not been enjoyable. Whit felt compelled to pray for this man, he got on his knees and began to hug him and hold him. He began to pray; the man began to sob as he prayed for the glory of God and the light of God to begin to heal the emotional wounds from the trauma, emotional pain, etc. With tears in his eyes he said "In 30 years I have never had a pastor do for me what you have done today". I believes that God touched him and he will have a much better Christian and Christmas experience. In Jesus Service Pastor: Whit Bass Wednesday, December 16, 2015: This is another testimony by James Morris. There was a guy that he knew that was looking for another recovery house to go to. James had connections with several recovery houses in this area and was able to help him. He also mentioned that he didn't have any peace and was full of doubt. James asked him if he could pray for him and he agreed. After praying he thanked James for praying for him and he felt the peace of God coming over him. This touch James' heart and he began to praise and worship God. This experience not only helped the guy but built James' faith also.
In Jesus Service James Morris neighbor Thursday August 13, 2015: I picked up Chris and took him to ULM for PE with Sgt. Robertson. Along the way I had Chris read I Cor. 14 slowly and we discussed each phrase. While there I visited with a student named Taylor; who is a member of the sky team. He had injured his right ankle; he let me pray for him. Chris worked so hard he got sick, so I carried him home. Sgt Scott has given himself to Chris' preparation to be successful in the Army. He got involved not only with prayer but with his time.
Thursday, August 27, 2015: At noon I went to the Army Recruiter's office to have lunch with Sgt. Derek Tassin; I asked him to drive. He went to Subway, put the van in park and started telling me his story. We sat there for one hour talking, never got out of the van. This was a great time of sharing; He wants to start going into the hospital to pray for people. I have him connected with Tim Smith who does hospital visits on Thursday evening. Derek texted me back saying that he enjoyed every minute of our visit. His daughter has just recently received salvation, baptism and has been filled with the Holy Spirit having her prayer language. Monday, August 31, I picked up Christian and Gabby; today is the day he ships out. I prayed for Christian on the way to the Army Recruiter's Office; also Sgt. Scott Robertson prayed for Chris before he left out. During September Chris turned 19. In boot camp he started a bible study and prayer group. I am amazed at the grace of God at work in a man's. life. I give Glory to God! When Chris completes his training he will be a certified technician on military communication equipment. Chris will be coming home on December 19,2015 for two weeks |
