Praying for people has always been out of my comfort zone.  I don’t know why that has been the case for me, but until my trip to Brazil I just wasn’t excited about that being the primary thing I would be doing on the trip.  I learned real quick when I made the decision to go that a lot of praying was going to be going on…more than what I felt comfortable with.  Now, before you may be tempted to criticize or judge me let me clarify…I didn’t have a problem praying…I just didn’t want to really pray for someone I didn’t know out loud.  Sounds silly, but I bet someone who reads this feels uncomfortable doing that too.  Isn’t that funny how the Lord puts us in positions where our comfort levels are challenged in order for us to become more like Him.  That’s what this journey is all about, right?  Becoming more like him?  If we are comfortable and we are just living life as normal -without being stretched- I’m not really sure the change we really want occurs.  We live life as usual…missing opportunities to be used for Him.
Several days into the trip we were at a church and I had gotten past the I-am-too-scared-to-pray-for-someone-point…a young couple came up to me and they were holding a sick child.  Lucas, my interpreter asked them what they needed prayer for.  The mother proceeded to ask for me to pray because the baby was burning up with a fever due to a virus.  So, guess what I did?  I started praying and Lucas interpreted.  When someone asks you for prayer, you pray.  You don’t worry about what someone thinks or anything…you pray.   I had already seen the Lord move, so I was obedient and began to pray for healing.  I continued to pray and touch the baby to see what the Lord was doing.  The dad in the meantime was standing there…standing quietly.  My friend Abby who was in our group came up and asked if the mom needed prayer for anything.  She had something wrong with her hands so as she handed the baby to the father and Abby began to pray for the mother’s hands…I continued to pray and touch the baby and could actually tell the baby’s fever was subsiding.  I’m not totally sure that the dad was fond of me touching the baby’s forehead, but I did!  Not long after, I saw the dad strangely poke around on the sixteen month olds stomach, which I thought, was very odd.  The dad said something to his wife and Lucas interpreted…while we were praying for healing of a fever and virus, the Lord (without anyone mentioning a thing) decided to heal a hernia that the baby had dealt with since birth!   No one mentioned it!   We didn’t pray for that specifically, but God healed it!   It was gone and He also touched the mom’s hands as well.  Abby and I were just being available and obedient.
You know what that tells me?  God is bigger than the box we put Him in.  He does things for His glory. We don’t heal.  He heals.  We pray!  God choses to move and heal, as He desires and He just wants our willingness and obedience…He does the rest.  We have to realize that fear of making a mistake, not sounding right or whatever it is that fear keeps us from doing is a tactic of the enemy.  He wants us to live in fear, keep our mouths shut and live life as usual.   Life as usual isn’t going to cut it anymore…my prayer for my family and for whoever reads this…is that more of Christ will flood our lives and that we would not let fear or anything else keep us from fulfilling Christ’s destiny for our lives.  Wow.  What if I had not prayed?  What if I had let fear keep me from going on the trip because I was afraid of what people would think?  I would still be in the same position I was in before…worried about what people thought and not really praying.  I’m thankful God isn’t in a box.  I’m thankful He set me free of fear…and those He sets free are free indeed.

The moment I decided to go to Brazil the stress began.  I have to say that the Lord has a funny way of stretching us….Even when we really are not interested in being stretched.  I mean, who wants to be stretched???  My friend, Mei Powers asked me back in August about possibly going to Brazil with Global Awakening…well, she didn’t really ASK…it was more like-- let’s go to Brazil, it will be fun and the food is soooo goooood.  Two things about Mei that you may not know is… one, she loves JESUS and  secondly, she really enjoys good food.  I love Jesus, food and love to travel when given the opportunity!   I excitedly said, “YES!”  I quickly paid my deposit and then began to realize exactly what kind of trip this was going to be.  It was if the Lord set me up!   I began to realize that there was going to be A LOT OF PRAYING FOR PEOPLE.  Well, first of all…praying for people that I didn’t know was uncomfortable.  I then found out how taxing the schedule would be--I don’t like to go all the time…and on top of that, I don’t like hot weather.  Period.  For some reason I thought Brazil would be cool…I have no idea why I thought that, because Brazil is NOT cool in the sense of temperature.  So, I found out that this trip was going to consist of hot, late nights praying for people.  Honestly, I thought that doesn’t sound like much fun...but at this point I could not get out of the trip.  It really was a situation I could not get out of, however, the Lord had other plans for me.
Now, I was thankful to be able to go, but the stress and anxiety of going for three months is what consumed my mind.   I actually thought maybe things will be so serious that Global Awakening would be concerned for our lives due to ISIS and cancel the trip.  Yes, I really thought that.  I know it sounds silly, but that is what I thought.  I am so thankful that the trip wasn’t cancelled and even more thankful to Christ for loving me enough to supernaturally heal, deliver and show me how much He really did love me.  It is amazing to me how the Lord wants us out of our comfort zone…He just wants to use us.  He wants to use desperate and hungry people for the Kingdom.  I have to say…I was desperate.  I didn’t want to come back home the same way and I knew I had to be 100% on board with the ministry Whit was starting…I was on board mentally, but not really on board emotionally and spiritually.  If that even makes sense.
I am sure you are wondering what happened, what I saw, what did He do…that sort of thing.  Well, I can tell you many stories of seeing the Lord heal physically and emotionally….I saw salvations, supernatural touches from the Lord and I could go on and on, but I want to share this one thing that will forever be part of my personal testimony.  The Lord changed my life.  Isn’t that what we really want?  We really want to be changed and touched by the Lord?   We want to be changed but without a price.  We exchange something for radical change.  If you want radical change, you have to be willing to let go of pride, fear, dignity, and anything else that may be a barrier between you and the Lord.  Christ wants ALL of us.  He wants our obedience and we have to be willing to “let go” of things for the change.
We were in a Presbyterian church every morning for worship, teaching and prayer; but as Randy Clark began to teach, I began to feel the Lord minister to me and it just intensified over the next hour and a half.  As time goes on for me, I will go into more detail, but for two hours, I felt His presence like never before (well, I had abrief encounter with two ladies in the lobby—Jo and Katherine and it lasted about 15 minutes—this encounter would be just the beginning). This encounter in the church happened with no one praying or touching me and in church!  During this time the Lord showed me how much HE loved me and how I would be totally set free of fear of man that had plagued me all my life and I will share two things I remember.  ONE—I saw Hannah and I ministering together and TWO—the Lord gently and sweetly said to me that Aaron-Sophia would not be left behind and that she would be apart of what the Lord had for our family.  I knew that Aaron-Sophia would be passionate about Him and serve Him along side of us…something I worried about.  This encounter totally changed my life…we have to know our purpose and know He loves us as well…
If we don’t really believe….I mean, really  believe that HE loves us then how can we minister HIS love to others?  We can’t.  I now know without a doubt that He loves me.  HE loves me.  The Creator of ALL things…Loves me. ME!!!  I also have been freed of fear that has kept me from my destiny.  I have missed many opportunities because I was worried about what people thought or was afraid at failing miserably trying something new.  One more thing, I was raised in church all my life and loved the Lord since a young age, but something always has held me back.  Now, being confident in the Lord and His love for me and his deliverance of fear, I can honestly say…I am just now stepping into the destiny He has for me and the ride has just begun—not just for me but our entire family.  I pray that the Lord show you just how much HE loves you….
I pray that in the months to come that something that is written in this e-mail will encourage you even more to seek the Lord.

Love Yall!!!

Testimony by Tim Smith

Sunday, December 20, 2015: A testimony by Tim Smith. Bill John and I were having our regular Sunday morning fellowship time at McDonald's. I noticed a young man coming across the parking lot, he looked like a crackhead but he had drawn my attention. A few minutes later he left with his food but when he got back to his car he must have locked the keys on the inside. As I watched he was using a coat hanger to try and unlock the car door. I felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to go talk to the guy; I introduced myself to him and shared a brief testimony of how Christ delivered me from a lifetime of chemical addictions through Celebrate Recovery. He told me he worked for the Voith Company on Well Road in West Monroe. Tim asked him if he could pray for him and he agreed. As he finished praying and looked up there was a policeman standing beside them. The officer asked if this was his car and he assured the policeman that it was; it only took the policeman a short time and he had the door open. The guy turns to Tim and says, "The Lord has showed up." This was a spiritually energizing occasion for Tim, for which he is grateful. The joy of God’s Grace upon the simplest acts of obedience are exhilarating! The harvest is not in the barn, it's in McDonald's parking lot.

The Reason for Chrstmas

Merry Christmas Saints,

In Genesis chapter 1 God said, "let us make man in our image, according to our likeness;  let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the  cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." This could  be accomplished because God breathed his breath into Adam and he became a living  being. The seed of God was planted in man's spirit; God was looking for a body to manifest  himself through, therefore he created man. Man was given authority and dominion over the  entire Earth through the indwelling seed of God.

In Genesis chapter 2 verse 16 the Lord God commanded man, saying, "Of every tree of the  garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not  eat for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Satan came to woman and said,  "You shall not die," and deceived Eve; she and Adam ate of the forbidden fruit. What died  was God's life on the inside of them and it was replaced by death (Satan himself). In this  act Satan himself gained dominion over the whole earth through mankind and that death  has been handed down from generation to generation.

In Genesis chapter 3 verse 15 God speaking to Satan saying, "I will put enmity between  you and the woman and between your seed and her seed He shall bruise your head and  you shall bruise his heel." God had a plan to allow mankind to regain his dominion over the  earth and this would be by a seed planted in a young virgin girl named Mary. God had to  break into the human race with a body in order to restore Kingdom reign on the earth. This  woman became Satan's worst nightmare!

Judgment is a manifestation of God's holiness; therefore God placed our sins on Jesus  Christ who paid for the sin's the whole world on the cross. In judgment God has to kill you  because of sin or kill someone else that is sinless. So God in His loving kindness had to kill  Himself or kill you. It pleased God to kill Himself and let you go free. Jesus made the way  for us to have a new seed; that seed is Himself planted into us at new birth. In doing this he  restored the rightful dominion of the earth to mankind. This only comes as a product of the  resurrected seed of Jesus Christ being planted in us.

Merry Christmas! In the coming year let the resurrected Jesus have dominion through you.  In the life of Jesus he had to receive an anointing of the Holy Spirit, after that he went forth  healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons, setting the captives free, bringing  forth the kingdom of God. The same anointing that came on Jesus, we need to receive an  order to have power and 2016.

Jacob Lindsay's Mission Work

12/22/2015

It’s the end of a season; a journey I feel extremely blessed to have walked. My time at  Youth With a Mission has been phenomenal and is no doubt one of the best decisions I  have ever made.
To recap what I’ve been doing, the first three months were spent in Montana attending  lectures and getting to understand the character and nature of God more fully, discovering  my true value in Christ, doing life with my school, and preparing as a team to go on  outreach. The final two months we spent on outreach, during which we had the chance to  share the gospel at elementary schools, build relationships in coffee shops, and support  existing ministries through acts of service.

All this, you played a part in. Without you, there would have been no going. You helped  construct the reality of the dream God put in my heart. You were the fuel to the flame. And  for that I am incredibly grateful. I can’t tell you how much it means to have had you guys  support me both financially and through prayer. During hard times it meant the world  knowing that I had a group of people in my corner cheering me on.
So what happens now? Well, now it’s time to turn the page, to begin a new chapter, and I  hear God calling me to return to YWAM Montana for a season, though this time in a much  different role. Come January 2016 I will be returning to Montana on a six-month  commitment to be part of the staff there.
While the base there is a well-oiled machine, it still functions on the power of people who  sacrifice their lives to serve there. No one receives a salary and everyone raises support to  be there. They are essentially missionaries to the United States. As with every organization,  in order for the gears to turn there needs to be people working in a wide variety of  departments, from the kitchen, to maintenance, to hospitality, and beyond. Enter me…
I will be working in the media department, which has a great need due to the recent  departure of several people. This particular base has a wide variety of different schools that  it offers to the hundreds of people that are trained and then sent out as missionaries each  year. I will be partnering with the media department to help create videos for the different  schools and departments on base, doing graphic design work, and maintaining the base  website. The next six months will provide me with a unique opportunity to assist YWAM  with my particular skill set, while also being able to learn and grow more as an individual.
I am looking for people to support me as I step into this new vision. In order to be able to  live and work at YWAM Montana I need to raise $800 dollars a month to cover the costs of  living, which includes housing, food, gas, and car insurance. One-time donations are  welcome, but what is really needed are people who can commit to supporting me for six  months beginning January 2016. It would mean the world if you would prayerfully consider  doing so.
If you are interested in supporting me monthly, you can get in contact with me  at: jacoblindsay1016@yahoo.com. Just a side note to those who want to support me, due  to my specific staff role, donations are not tax deductible.
 Much Love and Thanks,
 Jacob Lindsay

A Testimony by Whit Bass

 Thursday, December 17, 2015:
I had a hospice patient in Rayville I visited recently.  When I showed up at the patient's  house he had back pain that was so severe that it reflected on his face. I led him to his  chair and asked if I could pray for his back while the patient was still standing. I laid my  hand on his back, after praying I asked him if he could tell any difference in his pain level.  He said that the pain level had gone from an eight to a six. I visited with him and then  prayed again, I did this four different times. The pain level went from an eight to a six, then  to a four then to a two and then zero. The man had cold chills going up and down his back  as I prayed the third time. That day God touched him and healed his back physically.

I returned a few weeks later to see the patient and the man told me that his back was no  longer hurting, this was a non-solicited comment. I could tell that something was still  bothering the patient. The patient told me that December was always a difficult time for  him.

The patient went on to share how 30 years ago on December 24 his 10-year-old son was  shot in an accident with a shotgun by a first cousin before going rabbit hunting. For many  years the father has blamed himself for this incident.  Wondering if he should have
allowed his son to go hunt.  The son and the older brother never told their father that they  were going to invite their cousin to join them.

Because of this incident there was a lot of hurt between him and the other members of the  family. The family to this day has never apologized to the father.  His son was rushed to the  hospital in Rayville; there the doctor worked on him for hours and hours, giving him hope  and then no hope. His 10-year-old son didn't make it; he and his wife went home that night  and went to sleep only to be woken up by a gunshot sound from next door by the family's  cousin that shot his son.  The cousin and his father were rabbit hunting right near the  Patient's home. The patient was deeply hurt and enraged by this lack of sensitivity.  Many  years went by and because of this accident bitterness and hurt affected their marriage
and the marriage eventually failed. The wife cheated on the husband, the father of the 10-  year-old boy. Because of this most Christmas' seasons have not been enjoyable. Whit felt  compelled to pray for this man, he got on his knees and began to hug him and hold him. He  began to pray; the man began to sob as he prayed for the glory of God and the light of God  to begin to heal the emotional wounds from the trauma, emotional pain, etc. With tears in  his eyes he said "In 30 years I have never had a pastor do for me what you have done  today".
I believes that God touched him and he will have a much better
Christian and Christmas experience.

I prayed for my translators cousin. She had urinary infection for a
long time and experienced chronic pain. The doctor told her he couldn't
do anything to help her. We prayed and I asked her to go to bathroom
to check. She came back and told us the pain was gone.

 God is so good.

The Harvest is in the Field, not in the Barn

Wednesday, December 16, 2015: This is another testimony by James Morris. There was a    guy that he knew that was looking for another  recovery house to go to. James had  connections with several recovery houses in this area and was able to help him. He also  mentioned that he didn't have any peace and was full of doubt. James asked him if he  could pray for him and he agreed. After praying he thanked James for praying for him and  he felt the peace of God coming over him. This touch James' heart and he began to praise  and worship God. This experience not only helped the guy but built James' faith also.

Where does Joy Come From

12/17/2015

Wednesday, December 16, 2015: Today I visited with James Morris and he gave me this  testimony about being led by the Holy Spirit. He has a neighbor that was going into the  hospital for back surgery. James had a desire to pray for him but didn't have the  opportunity. Tuesday he had an opportunity to visit with his neighbor. The
 neighbor
mentioned that after the surgery he began to have an infection and was in pain.  After their conversation James asked him if he could pray with him. His response was, "I  have been waiting for someone to step up and pray for me." When he had finished praying  for him James could tell by the look on his face that God had touched him. This experience  brought joy to James's heart because joy comes from the harvest (reaching out to others).

The Conclusion of The Christian Strout Story for Now

Thursday August 13, 2015: I picked up Chris and took him to ULM for PE with Sgt.  Robertson. Along the way I had Chris read I Cor. 14 slowly and we discussed each phrase.  While there I visited with a student named Taylor; who is a member of the sky team. He  had injured his right ankle; he let me pray for him. Chris worked so hard he got sick, so I  carried him home. Sgt Scott has given himself to Chris' preparation to be successful in the  Army. He got involved not only with prayer but with his time.
Thursday, August 27, 2015: At noon I went to the Army Recruiter's office to have lunch  with Sgt. Derek Tassin; I asked him to drive. He went to Subway, put the van in park and  started telling me his story. We sat there for one hour talking, never got out of the van. This  was a great time of sharing; He wants to start going into the hospital to pray for people. I  have him connected with Tim Smith who does hospital visits on Thursday evening. Derek
texted me back saying that he enjoyed every minute of our visit. His daughter has just  recently received salvation, baptism and has been filled with the Holy Spirit having her  prayer language.
Monday, August 31, I picked up Christian and Gabby; today is the day he ships out. I  prayed for Christian on the way to the Army Recruiter's Office; also Sgt. Scott Robertson  prayed for Chris before he left out.
During September Chris turned 19. In boot camp he started a bible study and prayer group.  I am amazed at the grace of God at work in a man's. life. I give Glory to God! When Chris  completes his training he will be a certified technician on military communication equipment. Chris will be  coming home on December 19,2015 for two weeks
