Then as Mike and Abby returned back to the conference assisting this lady in the wheel chair, Hannah and I were lagging behind gathering up her guitar and binder from singing in the open outdoors. We stopped and Hannah felt led to ask a young African American man named Mello for prayer. She asked if he had any pain. He responded yes, that he had some back pain. He was a tattoo artist. He said his pain was on a scale of about a 5 in pain. Hannah prayed and then I followed in prayer asking for the Lord to remove all pain from his back. After praying for Mello Hannah asked him if he had any more pain. Mello’s surprised response was no… he was a bit shocked. Mello had a faith in Christ already but this likely increased his faith to be bold.
Our next stop would be the Fresh Market Grocery store. What is interesting about this stop is that Neil Powers was driving up a day later from Monroe and we were trying to coordinate a place to meet Neil. We told Neil to meet us at the Peanut Warehouse. On Google Maps, location showed up as a grocery store and it was the nearest location to the convention center. So, we thought we’d try out the peanut place. As it turned out we believe that the Lord was only delaying our time in order to align us to meet up with others that we would soon meet at Fresh Market. We were able to sing and pray for the Cashier of the Peanut Warehouse also. Here is the other interesting part of the equation… We typed in TARGET as our destination and as we neared TARGET we noticed a Fresh Market Grocery Store right beside TARGET. God led us to Fresh Market. Hannah walked in with her guitar and we weren’t sure how we would minister in a grocery store but we simply made ourselves sensitive and available. While walking around the store Hannah made eye contact with the produce worker in the fruit department. The worker’s name was Steve. Steve asked Hannah to sing and play a song for him right there in the grocery store. So Hannah did just that. She began playing her guitar and singing right there in the produce section. This simple act opened up the remaining doors while we were at Fresh Market. Fresh Market turned into about an hour and ½ ministry session. One lady came right over to where Hannah was playing and singing and began to pour her heart out about a neighbor who was struggling with drug addiction. I immediately motioned for Abby Clark to come over and begin sharing with this lady about her situation since Abby had just completed her own rehab with Home of Grace Christian Rehab. What an amazing connection. But this was only the beginning. We ended up ministering to this lady for the remaining stint of the Market visit. Mike Clark, Abby Clark, and Neil Powers were ministering physical healing to this lady whose name was Jennifer. Jennifer was experiencing pain in her hamstring. She was healed of all pain. Mike placed Abby's hands around Jennifer's hand where she was struggling with arthritis. Abby prayed for her and arthritis was completely gone. Jennifer was ecstatic! Jennifer shared with Abby that she was deeply involved in church and ministry one time but had become very discourage to the point of pulling out completely. This event energized her to come back to her relationship with Christ. Abby, Hannah, Whit and a young lady from Florida who jumped on board with us for this particular outing were ministering to an Asian worker at Fresh Market and we were able to lead him to pray and receive Christ as his Savior. We later returned to Fresh Market to give this worker a bible since he said he did not own a Bible. The manager of the store opened up about needing a church home and Steve the initial employee in the store said he could use prayer for a situation he was facing at his church as well as for his wife to find employment.
