He and his brother Duane grew up in an alcoholic family and had no spiritual upbringing. Dust and Garan (my son) became friends at a very young age and did everything together, including  living in sin many years together. They were literally inseparable. As a teen in Dunn, LA Dust attended a local Baptist church youth group after being invited by another friend Mark Drake (Matt 15:16). So he did eventually begin to hear about Jesus and be around young people that lived for Jesus. Dust graduated high school and began work (2 Thess. 3:10) on the pipeline as a welder helper and eventually trained in Oklahoma to become a very successful welder. Money came in as a result of his training and hard work. Dust was very good with money and eventually bought a house in Calhoun a few years ago, married and recently had a daughter. He also began to feel the Holy Spirit stirring in his Spirit and drawing him closer to the Lord and away from the things of the world (2 Cor. 4:18). He began seeking counsel from my son and thru personal prayer (Isaiah 55:6, PS 1:1) regarding this strong tug that he could not ignore.

Dust finally relented and surrendered his life to Jesus and this past Sunday was baptized in the pond that is on his property in Calhoun. He had been praying fervently for his brother Duane (Act 26:18, 2 Pet 3:9) who is a river boat captain and also very successful in his line of work. Duane has struggled with drugs and alcohol for many years (Prov 13:15) and with all the life issues that accompany, relational problems, money, problems, etc.....Sunday morning Dust invited his brother Duane to attend church service with he and his wife Nichole, He agreed and attended. The pastor (Rom 10:14) closed out the service and opened the alters for anyone who needed to pray or anyone who needed to make Jesus their Lord and Savior (Rom 10:9). Duane looked and his brother and told him the alter call was for him (Heb 4:12, JN 6:44) and that he wanted to publicly profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Dust accompanied his brother to the alter and prayed a prayer of repentance and salvation. Dust baptism was that same day (Sunday afternoon) and by the time they waded into the pond behind his house, Dust, Duane, and Nichole all made it public.

Dust made it a point to invite many unsaved friends and relatives as well as many Christian neighbors and friends to attend. He unashamedly professed Jesus and Lord before all attendance and waded in to allow my son Garan to baptize him.
