During this conversation I unintentionally offended this man. When I recognized the offense he had taken I apologized, but he refused to accept my extended hand for handshake. Later that day I was walking through the plant praying for the Holy Spirit to give me peace for the sense of guilt I was carrying of offense and failure to reconcile. At that moment I heard someone call out to me to my left and turning I saw the man offended walking toward me with a smile apologizing for his behavior and extending his hand. I thanked him that we were able to come to terms and he told me he spoke to the millwrights and they agreed to try my idea. I left that interaction thanking God for an immediate answer to my prayer. God is at work in power plants too....even among the road hardened men who wield their skills in these physically daunting crafts!
Remembering that my Pastor Robert Lindsay encouraged me to ask the Holy Spirit to open my eyes to recognize issues with equipment (while working 7d/wk power plant outage assignment) that everyone else is also looking at but no one else sees, I noticed a gas turbine area safety hazard. The next day I approached the GE Safety Specialist onsite, when I explained my concern to him he became agitated throwing his hands into the air exclaiming "What do you want me to do? !" To which I replied, you work on these machines
