But being in that same spot also allowed me to meet the Bass family from north Louisiana who were just coming to the campus to experience the excitement of LSU football. They didn’t have tickets but wanted to just hang out. I knew I could give them a great experience with our tailgate group who welcomed them in true Tiger fashion to join us for the game. Being that Collin already had a ticket I offered the other ticket to the family for whoever wanted to come in the game. The father, Whit, immediately insisted that his daughter Hannah Bass have that experience because they have all been to Death Valley. So they hung out with our group and Hannah joined me for the game. It was her first ever game and she had a great time. It didn’t take her long to learn the cheers and we all enjoyed each other’s company.
After the game this family made their way back to north Louisiana but not before Hannah prayed with AND for us.
I don’t know about y’all, but I truly believe that God places us where he needs so that we can all just make each other’s lives a little better. Thank you Wayne and Laurie, to all of my friends in Krewe de Pirates, to the Bass family for our new friendship, and everyone else for being the kindhearted people you are. I always enjoy the fellowship and look forward to more games. GEAUX TIGERS!!
