I walk with a limp
But I walk anyway
For the cause is to great
To sit and just pray
I walk with a limp No, my gait is not full But my heart won’t stay silent
While my problems I mull
I walk with a limp Yes, I stumble and fall But my light can't be seen
Unless I run to the call
Yes, I walk with a limp
But I walk anyway And I'll walk into heaven Joyfully leading the way
This poem was inspired in part by my father, Robert Lindsay. Several years ago, he encountered a physical condition that left him walking with a limp, but yet, that has not slowed him down in his pursuit of God's calling. That is a huge inspiration for me! I notice in myself many 'problems' that cause me to limp. The older I get the more that I realize that there are no perfect people. If you look long enough and hard enough you can find fault with everyone! Is that reason to break fellowship? Is that reason to dishonor? Is that reason to give up on yourself? No! We all 'walk with a limp' and once we realize that and learn to honor the call on our own lives and the call on other's lives, we will begin to move forward in the purposes of God. Yes, I may walk with a limp, but I will not stop walking!!
