Jerry Coley
While working at the paper mill in Bastrop, Jerry Coley became close friends with Leroy who witnessed to him for 20 years. After the 20 years, Jerry surrendered to the Lord. Then he became a deacon at Fairbanks Baptist Church. Over the years, Leroy developed sugar diabetes and lost his eye sight. Six months ago as he was stepping into the shower the Lord spoke to Jerry to go and pray for Leroy’s eye sight. Leroy had lost his drivers license and his wife has been driving him around for the past 5 years. Jerry said to the Lord; "This was too big for him to wrestle with." After several weeks, I had a meeting here at my home and people were sharing what God had been doing and faith began to stir Jerry’s heart. He shared about what God had been speaking to him about and we prayed for him. Jerry went to see Leroy and asked him if he could pray for his eyes. He said, “Let’s pray”. He gets a call from Leroy on Dec. 19, 2008 telling him that after a doctor’s visit his vision was now 10-20. He still has some trouble with his peripheral vision. The doctor gave him permission to take a drivers test and drive again. This has become an encouragement to Jerry’s faith. God is with him. Praise God.
