Please pray for the Herrera family in Honduras. Rene, a man who worked with
us on our mission trips to Honduras was in a motorcycle accident and passed
away today.
Please pray for his family and friends.
Thursday, January 13, 2011: Part of the team went into the prison in Olanchita;
the other part went into an orphanage. Andy Magee, Aaron Slayter and Gerald
Brinkley ministered to about 200 prisoners. There were 17 saved at the preaching
of God's Word within the prison area. At the entrance room of the prison, we
set up the Eye-Doc-in-a-Box, where we examined guards and prisoners. Terry
Barnhill, Curt Eberts, Sherry Shockley and I fitted 47 people with glasses. We
gave away New Testaments, tooth brushes and paste. I prayed for 25 people.
I prayed for 2 people to receive Jesus Christ as Lord.
Without my knowledge; Barnardo (Rene); my interpreter, received Jesus as Lord.
This guy was in America illegally. Were he studied the Muslim religion and was
not a Christian. In America he fathered a girl. He was arrested and sent to prison
in America. Later he was sent back to Honduras and was confined in prison.
He had just been released when we arrived. His mother who attended Dario's
Church encouraged him to be our interpreter. As I prayed and prophesied over
the prisoners and had them confess: Jesus Christ as Lord, he not only heard,
but repeated it and watched the results of the people as they received God's
word. After 2 people received the Lord, Barnardo also accepted the Lord, as
a result of the words that were spoken. He testified to what had happened at
the pastors Conference as the Word of God went into him. He interpreted all
three days there. I gave him my jacket, which he kept as souvenir of his
salvation experience. The last I heard of him; he was the associate pastor of
a Church in La Ceiba.
