Will we simply believe in the God of the Bible today?
Grace and Peace
Sunday, February 28, 2016: This morning Gary Lively & Mike Clark and I traveled to Homer LA to visit our brother Jon Willink at David Wade Correctional Center (Matt 25:36). We arrived at the gate for routine vehicle search by DWCC guard before entering the parking area. We have been visiting Jon for four and a half years so we know the routine. We stepped out of the car; I opened the trunk for inspection and walked to the back to greet the guard. They are very regimented in mannerisms when performing these searches since they do so many, so as she went thru the motions, I looked at her in the eye and asked “how are you today? How is your day going?” She was wearing a fleece scarf over her mouth to block the wind and confessed she was having difficulties from a recent dentist visit on Monday of last week where she had three teeth pulled. She told us her gums were still extremely sore even though it had been almost a week prior. Mike Clark stepped up and asked if we could lay hands on her (Acts 28:8) and pray for her gums to be healed (Matt 4:23-24, Act 10:38, Matt 9:35). She promptly accepted and we linked up (Matt 18:19-20) in the middle of DWCC entrance road and began to call out to Jesus (Jehovah Rapha) for healing. She thanked us as we got back in the car to park for our visit. We spent two hours encouraging our brother Jon. We left DWCC parking lot and approached the gate to be check out by the same guard. She walked out without the fleece covering her mouth and asked me to open my truck again for inspection. While she was looking; I told Mike Clark to ask her how her gums were feeling. Before Mike could ask, she walked to his side of the car and confessed complete healing with zero pain after prayer and gave all glory and honor to our Risen King (Ps 107:31).
