It Happened on Friday, December 27, 2013

Friday, December 27, 2013: I received a call from Joe Casiday who says that
Peter McKay. Joe and Vicki had gone up spend the holidays with their daughter
and son-in-law in Colorado and to also be there for the childbirth. When Courtney
went into labor they carried her to University Research Hospital. Courtney's
husband is also a physician so that meant she gets special care from the doctors
there. The delivery room that she was in was a large room; it had a curtain where
Joe and Vicki were waiting. After 20 hours of labor a team of doctors; behind the
curtain discussing what they needed to do. The baby would come down the birth
canal then retreat back into the womb, he did this several times. As the doctors
were discussing the next step their decision was a cesarean operation. Courtney
spoke up and said "hold on, we're not through yet." She said "Mother are you and
daddy over there?" They answered back yes; so, Courtney said, "Mother come
here and do your thing." The family held hands and began to pray as the doctors
looked on. Within 15 minutes after they had finished praying Andrew Peter McKay
came into the world.
