this story. They were part of a team to pray for the sick. There were about 20,000
people that attended. Each of the team members had a translator to help in the
counseling and praying for those who came forward. There would be several of
the team members that would go on stage to give a word of knowledge. This
young girl came up to Neil who had a real concerned look on her face and she
said “Portuguese” and by that he knew that he needed to find a translator. This
young lady had a friend who had a problem of not being able to form tears in
her eyes or saliva in her mouth. She asked if he would pray for her. He asked,
“Is she here.” She was, so Neil said, “Go get her and we will pray.” She pointed
to him and asked, “Do you believe that God can heal my friend?” Neil affirmed
that he believed. As she walked away to get her friend the thoughts went
through his mind, what am I getting myself into. She came back with this person
who was an older lady. He prayed for a while and then asked if anything was
happening. She said that there was nothing. He said we will continue to pray.
They did, but the lady was having trouble standing up so he helped to brace
her with his hand as he prayed. Again, he asked her if anything was happening
and she said that saliva was forming in her mouth. Neil said we will keep praying.
The girl that brought the older lady her started jumping and shouting praising the
Lord. The young girl that brought her took out a piece of paper which bewildered
Neil. She held the paper up to the lady and she was able to spit on the paper.
This was an amazing thing for him and it reminded him of the man that was let
down through the roof at Jesus feet by his friends. There was great joy in what
God did, Praise the Lord.
