But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. (1 Cor. 12:11)
At a home meeting this past Saturday during a time of prayer, a lady came and asked prayer for a nerve impingement she had in her hip. It caused her pain and discomfort, and it kept her from sleeping restfully. As I was leading this meeting I felt impressed to have David, a friend to me and a man I have been spending time growing in Christ with, come assist me to pray for this lady. The wonderful news is that the Holy Spirit healed her this night. Some interesting things I thought to share were happening during this time of healing. David later told me that while he was praying a heat came over him from the back of his neck, across the back of his shoulders, and all the way down the arm that he was laying on this lady. It was an indescribable heat, and he said that he never experienced anything quite like this before. He was very excited about this experience. The lady separately shared with me that while someone was laying hands on her back, she described a tremendous heat coming from the laying on his hands. She said that she later asked her husband if he recalled who was laying hands on her in this area. It was David. Another man who was praying with us very briefly spoke in spiritual language while praying, and a young man who was seated and watching this later came to me and said that he could literally understand what this man said. When asked what he heard, he said he heard, “Your healing is coming.” This is the second time that this young man has ever received the interpretation of tongues (1 Cor 12:10). He was excited about this and strongly desires to be used by God’s Holy Spirit. In closing, I saw this lady the next day with asmile. When asked how she was doing, she said that she slept well waking up twice during the night and realizing, “Wow….no pain!”
