Asking myself, “How do I know for certain that I am in the Spirit and not in
the flesh? As I pondered this question I know that when you confess Jesus
Christ as Lord from the heart, this is from the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 12:3) and
when you are praying in the Spirit that the Holy Spirit is praying mysteries to
God.
This is the story that followed as I began to pray in the Spirit. Sharon Rice
had wanted me to bring the Tribute to Bob Brulty that I had compiled for his
wife, she has wanted to read it for months, I had been forgetting it. This is the
day I remembered it.
Ginger and I got there early and we found our place. Normally the Bodan's
sit behind us; Wayne and Kathy Williamson sit in front of us. This is almost
every Sunday without exception. As the worship started I remained seated
and praying in the Spirit. The Williamson’s came in late and the Bodan’s
were a no show. A couple came in and sit in the Bodan's place, his name
was Danny Compton. Danny and his wife normally go to the nine thirty service.
I had laid the three-ring binder beside me face up and Danny’s wife began
to look at the cover page during a greeting time. I noticed her looking at it
and she pointed it out to her husband. It had Bob Brulty’s name on the front.
Danny ask me how I knew Bob and I told him that Bob had called me three
years ago needing help because he was drinking three gallons of whiskey a
week. I had also preached Bob's Funeral. Danny wanted to look at the book
and wanted to read it. I mentioned that I was bringing it to Sharon Rice. He
said that he was Bob’s cousin. I gave him the Tribute to Bob. He said that he
would read it and pass it on to the other cousins. All of this is not a coincident
but the arrangement of the Holy Spirit.
