man by the name of Torrey. As I listen to him talk; my heart went out to him.
Torrey's father left him when he was two years old. He is now 36 and has not
seen or heard from his father. He talked about the anger he has toward his father.
He had sent him a two-page letter wanting his father to have a relationship with
him. He didn't need his father's money; only his love. The father has gotten
the letter, but has refused to get back in contact with him. As he talked, I could
feel the rejection that must be going on in his life. After the meeting, I sat and
talk with him about the situation. He is an assistant manager at Brookshire's. He
has never had a relationship with a woman and deep down, this is a desire also.
Torrey is a Christian that loves the Lord and was raised by a Christian mother
and grandmother. To hear him pray I can tell that he had a relationship with
the Lord Jesus. He gave me his phone number; so that I to contact him and
have lunch. He also plans to come to the "Mounting Up in the Spirit" meeting
on March 14th.
Brother John, (my personal pastor) as I was thinking of this young man, a desire
to help him overwhelmed me. More is going on in the area of discipling men than
I can handle. I need others with the same vision to help.
