we were married. It was Harvest Day with a singing group and dinner. I was asked
to open with prayer, and afterward the pastor asked me and the speaker to pray
for a 15-year-old girl. She was from a dirt-poor family with no father. She has pier
pressure to have what the other kid’s have, didn’t so she would steal what she
needed. She had been caught several times. Her stepfather’s answer was to beat
her. She had no loving father and my heart went out to her. I was moved with
compassion for her, held her, prayed and had had her confess Jesus Christ as
Lord. She left and was running and playing with another girl. The stepfather spoke
to me that she just needed the belt applied. Oh, the damage there is to families
because we have forsaken fatherhood.
