is like a father with this young Spanish man. Jorge was born in New Orleans and
was raised in a crack house with his mother. Jorge was raised in a rough setting
that has shaped who he is today. The pastor of Twin Cities Bible church contacted
Jerry and asked him if he would mentor Jorge. Jorge has recently gotten out of jail
for dealing in drugs. He has been living with his girl friend now for six years and now
they have four children. Jorge doesn’t want to go back to prison, because that
would separate him from his children. His girlfriend is in a half-way-house herself.
With the help of the church and Jerry he has hope that things can be better. Jorge
is working two jobs and has not asked for money. He will be getting married on
August 16th. Jerry and I plan to pay for his tux and attend the wedding. Today we
had a good visit with him; went back to the church to see what he has been doing
as a maintenance man. We prayed for Jorge and his new life in God. He is very grateful.
