in Monroe. Tim had talked to me earlier about his financial giving to the Lord:
where it should go. First Tim wanted to give me his testimony. On a recent
vacation trip to the Smokey Mountains he carried two of his grandchildren; in
the process of time he led these two grandchildren to receive Jesus Christ as
their Lord. He said that this came very easy and naturally for him. After their
return Tim spoke to his daughter and son-in-law about what the children had
done. This must have put the parents under conviction because they also
received Jesus Christ as their Lord. Tim suggested that they go to First
Baptist Church in West Monroe and there be baptized. They have not acted
on this and he is concerned. They do not know anyone in this large church
and would probably feel out of place. I was impressed of the Lord to tell him
that as head of his family and being the one that took the spiritual initiative,
that he should be the one that baptizes family. I told him that it would be a
wonderful experience for him together family and friends and he baptize his
grandchildren, his daughter and son-in-law in their swimming pool. I told him,
"You are their pastor."
Second, Tim said something that I was not expecting. The Holy Spirit has
been dealing with him about having a personal pastor. He said, "Robert, I
hear you talking about calling your personal pastor; talking to him about
the things that you're going through." Tim said, "I need that." Asking me if
I would agree to take on that responsibility, this is a very on humbling and
also a serious request. It is scary for me as a man to take on this
responsibility but it is also an honor. So, we moved forward in the fear of
God, not shrinking back.
