Jim Adkins. Jim was hired at the mill as a safety director several years before I left. He
was implementing some safety issues which we had never worked under before. To
change the mindset of 800 men is like insisting Americans to wear seat belt. His
resoluteness was up to the task. He became unpopular and eventually gotten fired. It
took a long time for him to find another Job. When he came into the station he began
to give me his testimony of how the Lord had helped him out of a sever depression.
This all came as a surprise to me. I had not seen him in 11 years. On my hard hat at
the mill was written “Jesus is Lord” which I wore for 34 years. I supposed that he wanted
to share with me. After telling me his story he asked what I was doing now. He took my
cell number and wants to visit!
