Wednesday, September 21, 2016: Whit Bass and I were visiting at McDonald's when
Jim Greer came over and began to visit. Jim Greer remembered me from the mill from
many years ago. We were conducting a prayer and sharing time during the noon lunch
period. He is a member of Cheniere Baptist Church. He gave me the following testimony
from a friend:
My wife and I went to a nursing home Saturday, here in San Antonio, Texas to visit some
people; as we were sharing the gospel, all of the sudden my wife looked to my back and
right in the room there was a man sitting in a wheelchair. His eyes were open wide! We
asked him to come over and join us. He said, "I have to because I just heard Jesus being
preached." Turns out he was 84 years old. He told me with tears in his eyes that no matter
what you do; make sure you don't stop preaching because he'd been around for a long
time and he'd never heard anyone share the gospel the way you did. He said "There is
something special Jesus has put inside of you: God is using you in ways that you couldn't
ever imagine!
Remember he was in a wheelchair and couldn't walk. I asked him if I could pray for his
knees and back. I put my hand on him and commenced to pray for healing for his knees
and then I moved my hand to his back where was a big knot. I started praying for complete
restoration and I felt the knot move and leave his back. We finished praying and told him
to stand up out of the wheelchair; and as God is my witness, this man stood up without any
help and took off walking toward the door with some zeal about him! I am in awe and humbled
by God's power and his hand on us! Thank you Jesus, I just had to share the story.
