Wednesday, June 22, 2016: I Have been praying for God to continue to show me the escape (1 Corinthians 10:13) while finding myself in the cross hairs of darts of temptation and location related triggers (Florida) over the past several days, the Holy Spirit nailed me this morning with 2 Peter 2:20-22! As I was meditating upon how powerfully the Holy Spirit's inspired truth penned through Peter sent real time warning flares into the battlefield of my mind, I fell under a sense of conviction for not having called my CR sponsor to confess what I've been dealing with; relapse prevention 101.....duh (James 5:16).
Having now arrived at this spiritual turning post, making the call is easy, right? Wrong! My mind still wants to argue.....the call isn't that important (Galatians 5:17). To make the call required me to deny my will to God's will (Luke 9:23). Finally making phone connection with my sponsor at 8:15 AM and just being real, raw, open and honest with him and for him to pray for me brought an overlap of heaven onto the here and now (John 4:23-24)!
Following that call Norma Jean and I had a conversation with a lady at the Laser Spine Institute that lead us into an opportunity to pray with her, her husband and grandson, speaking 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 over her. Eternal Kingdom overlap still holding onto space/time continuum evidenced by the blessing the three of us experience through prayer and speakingthe word!
Time now 8:30 ish. Our driver picks us up to take us to the location that will perform NJ's myelogram introducing himselfas Carlos. While we're talking, I'm praying for the Holy Spirit to direct me on how to bring Jesus into our conversation when he tells us he's from Columbia, SA. I reply that we're followers of Christ who have friends that have been on mission to Columbia bringing back testimonies of miracles and healings. That's the moment our closely mannered and reserved driver'sguard dropped and he began proclaiming Christ as his savior! Carlos excitedly shared with us a testimony of healing experienced by a lady from California whom he drove about eight months ago along with her husband from LSI to sameradiology clinic he's taking us to. I was thrilled to see how excited Carlos got when I asked him if he'd pray for Norma Jean, and what a prayer! Time now maybe 9:00 A M and the flux density of heaven's overlap increased in that car with Carlos! I wonder what people were thinking when we got out hugging our driver.
The radiologist briefs Norma Jean on the procedure around 11:00 AM and asks me if I have any questions. To which I stand and say we're followers of Jesus Christ and would like to pray with you if you'd allow. He seemed a little reluctant but did agree to join hands with us as I prayed over Norma Jean, him and his team.
What an incredibly wonderful chain of blessings thatfollowed a simple act of obedience to God's word!
