Testimony by Gary Lively: Whit Bass and I had been invited to pray with someone at the home of Robert Lindsey Wednesday, May 25th. I arrived in Monroe early to meet up with Whit at St Francis to pray (James 5:15) with a lady who had cancer before we headed to Robert's. We were disappointed to find out the lady we were there to pray for had been released from the hospital. We had some time to spare and I remembered a person in my family that was struggling with addictions and as a result in his marriage (Prov 13:15) was suffering. I called this person and asked if he wanted to meet us for prayer. He agreed and we decided to meet in the parking lot of First Baptist Church in West Monroe. We arrived there before he arrived and found out Mei Powers was in the prayer room praying for different needs of church members. Premie Joseph pulled up and walked in to join Mei in prayer. Soon I received a call, it was the person we were waiting on asking if his wife could join us. We got excited that we were going to have the opportunity to pray over this newly married couple. When they arrived we began conversation about the various struggles that people go was thru and how his behavior was affecting his wife and marriage. Soon Premie and Mei came out and began encouraging his wife and joined us in encouraging them as husband and wife. Whit asked this person if he was born again (Jn 3:3) and explained that absolutely nothing was going to work out for the glory of God if not. No true freedom (Jn 8:36) comes outside a redeemed life thru the Blood of our Savior Yeshua. He explained he had prayed a prayer when he was young but his life had never bore the fruit (Matt 7:16) of a truly converted and redeemed person (1 Jn 2:15-17). We held hands and began to cry out to God on his behalf in the middle of the parking lot. He started crying out with his own voice for Jesus to save and purify him. His wife was weeping for her husband as well. It was a beautiful time together believing God for restoration and deliverance. We arrived late to Robert's but full of hope and encouraged because of the Church Service in the parking lot of the church building. Please do not get these confused. YOU are the Church (1 Cor 12, Eph 2:20-22)!
