“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name, they will cast out
demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they
drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick,
and they will recover.”  Mark 16: 17-18
One Saturday, I had a man stop by to chat.  He told me of his difficulties and past
challenges with substance abuse.  He also shared other issues that he suppressed
for years and how counseling has helped him.  When asking him about his
employment, he shared that arthritis in his hands has prevented him from doing
a job that he loves…..being a chef.  While talking, I shared with him that God’s will
for his life will be accomplished, and that it does not surprise me that the enemy
would attack the very area of his body to prevent him from doing what he enjoys. 
The enemy is a thief and seeks to kill and destroy; HOWEVER, our Lord came that
we might have life and have it abundantly.  I asked him if he ever considered this
and if I could pray for him.  He agreed.  As we prayed with my hands-on top of his,
I felt his hands starting to twitch.  He commented on this as well.  After the prayer,
he started moving his hands and said that there was a noticeable difference, and
he became more and more excited as he realized that the pain was completely
gone!  He later closed his fists showing me what he has not been able to do in
over 3 years.  The next day was Sunday, and this man visited our church.  He
shared his testimony with our Sunday school class and has since joined our body
of believers.  Jesus Christ is healer!
