Gary Arnold gave me a job at his machine shop. He was a good man who did
a lot for me. Several years later I moved to Monroe and took a new job. Not long
after Mr. Gary was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. For years I've often
thought of him and regret that I had never going to see him while he was sick. I
regretted not thanking him for all he did for me in my life.
Sunday Oct. 22 was pastor and staff appreciation day. I was asked to speak about
our pastor. I also spoke about Mr. Gary and Mike Caldwell. Two other men who
had a big impact on my life spiritually. That night I went to bed and had one of the
most vivid dreams I've ever had. In the dream I walked into a restaurant and as I
was walking in I saw Mr. Gary sitting at a table. He saw me as I walked toward
him both our faces lit up with joy. We hugged each other and I looked him in the
eyes and told him how much he meant to me and I thanked him for all he had
done in my life, how he had blessed me. The dream ended. When I woke up it
was so real and felt just like I had spent time with Mr. Gary that night.
I would like to encourage everyone to go to the people in your life that has
impacted you and tell them how much they mean to you. Don't wait to it's too
late.
I've also had the blessing to get to preach at New Light Baptist Church. They are
without a pastor. I've never had the opportunity to prepare for 2 messages before.
I approached it like I was preparing for one; trusting that the Holy Spirit will give
me the words. He did! I preached on I John Sunday morning. Our Lord Jesus
gave me 1 Peter 3:15 to preach from Sunday evening.
I'm thankful that God always provides.
