Saturday, March 31, 2018: By Gary Lively

I was in St Augustine, FL last week on business and was scheduled to fly in
to Mobile, AL Friday to meet family and friends for a weekend of revival
services at The Rock Church where Apostle Aaron Smith leads. We were
there because Damon Thompson was visiting for the weekend and hosting
the monthly Carolina Revival services in Mobile.
I arrived in Mobil late morning ahead of my family and decided to get an
Uber to the hotel to get some work done and rest before the Friday evening
service started. My driver Micheline arrived to pick me up soon after I got
outside the airport. I have learned over the years that every encounter is
an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus and encourage folks. During
our ride I told her I was in town for revival services and was looking forward
to the fellowship and Holy Spirit river at The Rock. She asked if I was a
traveling evangelist, While I did explain my career and how I traveled for work,
my answer was “YES” based on the truth of Holy Writ (2 Cor 5:20, 1 Cor 4:1-7,
2 Cor 6:4-10, etc…..). I explained to her that I did not separate my identity
at work from my identity away from work (LK 12:8, Matt 10:32-33,, ect…..).
Micheline began opening up to me about her life and how she was once on
fire for the Lord (Jer. 20:9) having been delivered from alcohol, depression,
eating disorder (Prov. 23:21, 1 Cor 6:9-10, Gal 5:19-21), and other evil
entanglements of the enemy. She described a very dry and desolate place
she now walked in because of her complacent state of being and not pursuing
Yahweh with the same zeal that once was a normal way of life. She also
confessed that most Sunday church services lacked any Holy Spirit presence.
Scripture is clear we should seek Him (Matt 11:28-30) during these times.
By the time we arrived at the hotel for me to be dropped off she was thanking
me for encouraging her to keep fighting the good fight of Faith. The Holy
Spirit gave me the word “linger” for her.
I prayed for Micheline and encouraged her to pray for the Nooma to blow
across the embers that were inside her spirit to fan the flames of fire that
would allow the gifts to be stirred (2 Tim 1:6-7), that she would take an
obedient posture and yield once again the gifts and callings (Rom 11:29)
of Yahweh and become an overcomer and unhindered vessel for the Kingdom.
Grace and Peace
Gary
