told him not to try to prove to the others his skills and abilities. He said take
your time and go at a slow pace. Cliff's step-up supervisor came to him and
asked him if he wanted to move up to a board operator; his response was not
at this time.
The other day the plant was having issues with a damper that controlled airflow
at 1200°. Cliff went to the area to troubleshoot the damper; supervisor told him
to leave the area that he was going to stroke the damper. Cliff immediately
begins to leave the area but the supervisor did not understand that Cliff had
already left the area and became angry at him. An hour later the supervisor
walked up to him and said, "I need to apologize to you for becoming angry;"
Cliff was unaware of this anger. He said that he was trying to be the best
supervisor that he could be; he was in that position temporarily. Cliff told him to
commit himself to Jesus Christ and be the person that God has called you to
be. He said; "I'm trying but it is tough." They talked for 30 minutes and Cliff
continued to encourage him. Before he left, Cliff said, "Can I pray for you about
this;" he sat back down. Cliff laid his hands on him and began to pray the Holy
Spirit come down on him. Cliff prayed that the Lord would lead him in this
supervisory position, teach him how to lead people. When Cliff finished he was
squalling and crying; and this is a big old guy. He thanked Cliff, shook his hand
and left. Cliff had wanted the opportunity to minister to him. Cliff has a desire to
be a positive influence for Jesus on a daily basis in the workplace.
