“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15
When Robert came to work one morning, the computer technician at his workplace told everyone, “Do not touch your computers!” Earlier the previous night, a computer hacker got into the company’s accounting system, decrypted it, and encrypted again holding it for ransom. Like his co-workers, Robert was deeply troubled by this and felt compelled to begin praying about it. In his Bible, he has verses that he calls “power verses”, and he prayed one of them to counter the evil he sensed was taking place against the company. It was Isaiah 49, verses 25-26. After praying, a mysterious thing happened. The virus that took hold and attacked the system began attacking itself and imploded. The company regained control over their system, and the computer technician described it as nothing less than a literal miracle. Everyone at work celebrated and “especially” Robert. Praise God that He hears us. There is power in prayer.
In Christ,
