We give all the praise, honor and glory to Jesus!!
Cliff & Tim
My sister in-law asked my wife could me (Cliff) and some of the people from our Home Group go to the Farmersville Nursing Home and pray for one of their friends, his name was Dennis Simms. Dennis is around 70 years old and was beaten by several guys with bats and clubs on his road. He was left for dead in the ditch. He is paralyzed from the neck down. So Cliff and Tim went and prayed for him that evening after work. All the way we were praying for a SUPERNATURAL breakthrough by the Holy Spirit. Upon arrival we began to pray in the Spirit in the parking lot asking the Holy Spirit to manifest himself today. The wind began to blow strong over us as we were standing there praying. It was an awesome feeling. So we entered the Nursing Home and found his room. We found him in fairly decent spirits. He had covers over him to his abdomen and his arms were on pillows under the covers and his legs were on slightly raised with the bed and his body was in a slight sitting position in the bed. The nurse was giving him his medicine and then she left the room. He was glad to see us. We began to ask him about his situation and how he ended up here and he told us. He also told us that the nurses there did not really take good care of him. He showed us that he could slightly move his left wrist and fingers. We told him that we wanted to pray for him for healing, comfort, restoration of what Satan had stolen from him and that the nurses would be used by the Holy Spirit to help restore his body. He said that would be great. We began to pray for him. After the first prayer we began to ask him about his relationship with Jesus. He said he did have a relationship with Jesus and that he was baptized when he was in his thirties also when he was lying in the ditch for two days he had an encounter with Jesus. He said that it was around 24 degrees outside when night fell and he was laying in water and could not move, he saw the stars come up as night fell. He thought he was going to freeze to death. And then a light appeared before him a very bright light. And the light spoke to him and said that he had something for him but and that he was going to save him from freezing to death. The waters he was in began to warm and he said that they did not only warm up but the water became blue like the oceans. He said the waters did not get hot but they were just warmed. Jesus did not tell him what he had for him only that he was going to save him from dying in the ditch. It was an amazing testimony! We began to thank God for that. We prayed for him again that his spirit be re-newed and that he would have a desire to seek Jesus above all things. That he would have a desire to worship the Lord with all of his heart. We asked him did he feel any different or could he move anything. He said move the cover back from his left arm so we did. He began to move his finger slightly again and roll his wrist and he asked me to grab his arm so I did. He began to pull back with his arm. I told him that I could see the muscles moving in his shoulder and that he was pulling my arm. We were very excited. We told him to continue to try to move his arms and legs and that this would be a process a journey to healing both spiritual and physical. Another nurse walked in and began to speak to him. We asked her if we could pray for her and she gladly said yes. She said that her right knee was hurting and she could hardly walk on it. We sat her down in a chair and Tim put his hands on her knee and I put my hands on her shoulders. Tim began to pray over her knee for healing. After he prayed she said that when he had his hand on her knee it popped and now it does not hurt anymore and she began to walk around on it. At this time she is in tears and Mr. Dennis is seeing all of this happen at the foot of his bed. She began to tell us how God had saved her from being a crack addict and how by her relationship with Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit she has helped other addicts and people in their struggles and her husband through life threatening sickness. She was so excited. So we began to thank Jesus for the change in her life and the things that He had done for her. We asked her did she mind praying for Mr. Dennis when she comes to give him medicine every day and she said that she definitely would. When we left they both were thanking us and praising Jesus and so were we!!! The other thing that I was praying for through this situation was that my sister in-law and brother in-law does not believe that praying in the spirit and laying hands on people and praying for healing is proper. They do know that God will heal people but they don't believe that he will use us as “conduits” for the healing. So I was also in prayer the whole time that their eyes would be opened and that God would use this situation to open them. My wife received a text last night at 10:30 from her sister stating that the nurse said that her knee is completely healed and that they want us to come back and pray for them and more patients in the nursing home. So I believe and have faith that my sister in-law, brother in-law, nurses and patients' lives will be changed by the love of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit through our obedience.
