to her on the phone and thru email weekly for years. She was out of work for months in
2016 due to a serious car accident. Her coworkers were keeping me informed on her
condition. I sent a card and a few item’s to her home late last year as a source of
encouragement.
Penny returned to work a couple months ago, and I called last week to actually speak to
her and find out what happened and how she was doing. She spoke of the gravity of the
accident and about how her faith in Jesus had been such a source of encouragement
during many uncertain days following the wreck. She was hit head-on by a young lady
who was passing in a curve and did not count the cost before deciding to take this dangerous risk. The young lady was hurt but recovered and visited Penny while she was in the hospital.
Penny spoke about the visit and mentioned how apologetic the young lady was for causing
the accident. I was encouraged that Penny was very forgiving and went on to ask the lady
about her eternal security and if she had not survived the car accident where she would spend
eternity.
Penny’s young son was traveling with her but was not hurt and actually got out of the car and ran to Penny’s door to try and get her out. She was pinned in for a long period of time until rescues workers could cut her out.
