they went on different paths of destruction. His name was Robert Sinclair and Jerry hadn’t
heard from him in thirty years. Robert had gotten involved in heroin, crystal meth, and cocaine
and had done that for about 45 years. Robert never got married; He was 58 years old when
he died and Jerry still loved him. They had the funeral services in the estate room at the
funeral home in Bastrop. The only ones there were four friends and four relatives and the
preacher. After the service which lasted only a few minutes, Jerry asked the aunt if Robert
ever had a relationship with God. She said, “Yes”. At Murray apartments where he lived they
had services and Robert would attend. Then he would call Aunt Burner and ask her if she
went to Church today; then say, “I love you”. After his death, they found a bible in his
apartment and a lady next door to him, said that she and Robert would have coffee and prayer
every morning and she had made a vase and wanted to give it to them to put flowers in. Jerry
said, “Praise God, That is the kind of God we serve, He never gives up on us.”
