Over the last several years, I worked with a man who was the Safety Manager for our company. His position was very stressful, as many of ours are, and I could relate. Working directly with him on many occasions, it was evident he was struggling and was not a man of God. One particular day, he was extremely stressed and I approached.
him in his office and asked could I pray for him. He asked me, “Kevin, you have a stressful position too but you’re always positive and seem to be handling the pressure. How do you do it?” He said “I want what you have”
This was an opening to share the Love of Christ with him and confess that the source of my joy and strength was Jesus. I shared with him how Jesus was the answer and He does not desire us to be held down with stress and fear but walking in freedom and living an abundant life.
I prayed over him that day and continued praying for him consistently over the next several months. He eventually left our company to take up employment elsewhere and we lost contact with each other. Last Sunday, Sheila and I were in the grocery store after the morning Services at Cook and I saw this bearded man approaching me at a fast pace. As he got closer, I recognized him as Don, that former Safety Manager. He just grabbed me and hugged me tight right there in the middle of the store and he said “I found Him! I found Jesus!
I now understand the Peace and Joy you were talking about and I am walking in freedom because I have given my life to Christ and you were the one that God used to bring me to Him!” We rejoiced together and my heart was happy! We exchanged phone numbers
and vowed to stay in touch with each other. All Glory to God! Thank you Lord Jesus!
Often times we do not see immediate results when we share the Love of the Lord with others but we know we are planting seeds and we just keep praying that those seeds will be fertilized and produce a harvest of saved souls! Pray without ceasing! (1 Thess. 5:17)
