My name is Doyle Volentine, I have been in ministry for 24 years. The
most astounding thing I have experienced was in Sydney, Australia. I had gone
down to see a pastor friend of mine; I went to church with him. A man came up
and sat behind me. I turned and introduced myself. The man said he was from
Sri Lanka. “It’s nice to meet you and maybe we can talk later,” I said. During
worship service, I heard a loud crashing sound behind me. As I turned around
I saw the man’s wife holding him up. He had knocked chairs all over the place.
A friend of mine laid a hand on him and began to pray. I also placed my hand
over the man’s heart and said, “Death be gone,”
I kept my hand over his heart and said, “Be life, be life; heart be restored.” The
man was reclining in a chair, his head back and his eyes rolled up. There was
foam coming out of his mouth. I thought that he may have had epilepsy or some
type of stroke. Then the man began to speak, he said,” I’ve been raised from
the dead, this is my first miracle!” He said, “It was dark then light came back,
the light was in me.”
A couple of days later we visited in his home. He was there with his wife
and his estranged daughter. They had been estranged since the daughter’s
recent divorce. His daughter was an attorney who came to visit. He began to
tell his daughter what had happened to him. His daughter was overwhelmed
because she knew that he had been having heart trouble for quite some time.
His name was Bernard and he was a statistician for the government of Australia.
I asked the daughter if she knew the same Jesus that her father knew? She said,
“No, I don’t.” She had gone to church but didn’t have any belief. I lead her in a
prayer of confession of faith in Jesus Christ. Then she said, “ I have cancer.”
She was a beautiful young lady of 40 years of age. I prayed a prayer of faith for
healing, with which she tearfully agreed. Tears were flowing, the mother and
father came and embraced their daughter. The father said, “This is my
second miracle.”
As I looked out the window, I saw a beautiful rainbow, and concluded
that signs and wonders do follow all of those that do believe.
