I wanted to give you an update of how yesterday went when I visited an apartment in Monroe Louisiana where there have been six homicides and 1 suicide in the last month or so.
The first person Pastor Odell and I ministered to was an employee. The employee was a female who had been affected from the recent crimes. She received our prayers and words of encouragement and resources we provided her.
After ministering to the employee we then went to the mother of the victims and a sister and their families. The first family member we visited was the sister. She had many children and when I walked up to their room I was reminded of how the children came to me when I was in the refugee camp in Malawi Africa I knelt down and one by one the children would come and hug me, smile at me, feel my hair. The sister allowed us to pray with her and seemed somewhat receptive but not nearly as much as the children.
When we went to see the mother of the you g lady murdered and her children... that was a different story. She was very receptive and grateful for our time with her. As a matter of fact she stood there and wept as we prayed over her words of truth and encouragement to her. Yesterday was a very hot and humid day. But when we begin to pray with this mother a strong wind blew out of nowhere. I told her that the burst of wind reminded me of the wind of God.
