Delta in May. In late July, I accepted a position that has been completely unlike
anything I've done before. I accepted the position as Director of Transportation,
Maintenance and Facilities with the Union Parish School Board in Farmerville,
Louisiana. While I miss being directly involved with students and faculty, I'm
enjoying the challenges of something completely new and different. Best of all
I'm... enjoying the challenges of something completely new and different. Best
of all I’m working directly for Dr. George Cannon, a man of profound capability
and notoriety in north Louisiana. He has a compelling personality and easy to
follow and respect. For the past several days I’ve had the great honor of looking
into the bright and cheery eyes of precious children as they begin their academic
pursuits. I’ve also looked into the trembling eyes of children terrified to be away
from the security of moms and dads for the first time—and offer them a smiling
face and a good morning. It really is a privilege what I get to do for a living and
I’m thankful to Dr. Cannon and UPSB for this new opportunity in my career. In a
way, I’ve come full circle back to where I began 20 years ago. You just never
know what changes a door will bring.
Praise our Lord Jesus for answered prayer!
