Brandon picked up their 18-month-old son and something quick for dinner. As he
passed by Melvin’s on Tower drive for some reason he felt that he needed to eat
there. He and the baby went home, showered, got cleaned up and went back to
Melvin’s. He and his son were the only ones in there. About five minutes later a
man and woman came in with their son. The son was Brandon’s age or younger
and at that moment something came over him instantly. Right away he knew by
the way he was dressed and the way he carried himself that he was just out of
boot camp. Brandon hasn’t been out of the Marines long himself. From the time,
he walked in Brandon couldn’t stop thinking about this guy. God was putting him
on his mind. After eating Brandon and his son left, got into his car but this was
bothering him. The question was why, “This guy.” As he started to drive out of the
parking lot the three came out of the door. Brandon made a loop in the parking
lot, stopped and watched as they drove by. Brandon drove in behind them and
he couldn’t turn left and go home. The Lord came on him and he followed them.
God wanted him to pray for and meet this person.
He followed them to their house on the other side of US 165. He pulled in right
behind them, got his son out of the car seat, and walked up to them. The guy
looked at him as to say, “What do you want?” Brandon said, “I don’t want you
to think that I am crazy but God wants me to pray for you.” Brandon said,
“I need to meet you and I need to know you and pray for you.” He replied,
“Yew, yew that would be great.” His parents were standing by watching. His
name was Gary and he had just got out of the army boot camp.
He was stationed in New York and had just flown in 2 ½ hours ago.
The guy took his son and held him; Brandon said to himself, “I am not a good
prayer in front to people.” But when he put his hand on his shoulder Gary
began to squall, his mother and father started squalling including himself
and he had not said a word. Brandon started praying, he started saying
things that were powerful, things that he didn’t know were coming out of his
mouth. He didn’t know what he was talking about. Brandon was amazed at
what he was saying. His son was looking around not knowing what was going
on. He admitted to Gary that he didn’t know why he was doing this. Brandon
had a knowing that everything that God was doing through him was for a
reason. While in military training Gary’s girlfriend had drained his bank account
and left him in bad financial trouble. Brandon could tell that they were church
going people. They were all touched by the Lord, but this situation was mostly
for Brandon himself. This became the most powerful experience that he had
ever seen. Nothing that he has ever heard in church could compare to this.
