I'd been sending my Brother in Christ Gary Lively pictures of equipment being dismantled in the outage, and also that I was praying that I would be able to attend corporate worship Wednesday night. Brother Gary replied challenging me to invite the men on these crews here from out of their home states to church. Have you ever encountered a crisis of belief in response to hearing God's will? Who in your life challenges you to step out in faith to join Christ in the expansion of His Kingdom come, His will be done? The next morning I attended the gas turbine crew morning safety briefing, also present were subcontracted scaffold, crane and electrical crews....I counted 24 men. After the briefing the GE Safety Specialist asked if I had anything to add. I spoke up stating: "I'm a follower of Christ who delivered me from a lifetime of addictions and would like to invite you to attend church this evening at The Assembly in West Monroe on Cypress St at 6:30 pm. We would be honored to have you join us". A couple of men thanked me for the invitation.
After lunch I attended the steam turbine crew's (12 men) after break briefing and made the same statement. I received another, thanks for the invitation. I didn't see any of those men at church; however, the next day 3/3/16 I had the opportunity to pray with three men for physical healing for family members. Praying that God will cause someone each day to cross my path that His Great Treasure may shine forth through my flawed, fractured, fragile clay jar!
2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
Peace,
Tim Smith
