others in need. As I walked by the pastor he reached out to take my hand as if he wanted me to
pray for him. I immediately sensed discouragement. I just didn't realize the degree that he was
carrying in that moment. I began to pray for the pastor at the Altar. He began to weep before his
entire congregation. I then felt led to embrace the pastor as Robert has taught many of us to do
that have been discipled by him. The pastor continued to sob and weep. I felt one of his tears fall
on my arm. It was in that moment that I realized why the Lord had moved on this pastor to invite
Hannah and I to his church. I then asked him if it was okay if I invited his congregation to pray
for him and his wife and daughter while standing at the ALTAR. He agreed.
Many of his congregation surrounded him and his family and began to pray prayers of blessing over
them. Once we completed this time of prayer Pastor David took the platform. He stood before his
congregation in silence. It was uncomfortably long but I felt that it was going to be a good
thing. He finally began to speak and confess that he had been discouraged. I gave the pastor a
word while we were at the altar that the enemy had been leaning on him for quite some time and
had been fatiguing him. David said from the pulpit Sunday, "Whit, the word you gave me about
the enemy leaning on me was right on..." He went on to tell his congregation that he had been
considering quitting his position. That the enemy had been offering lies to him to find another vocation.
Pastor David opened up to his congregation with all of this. Sunday was a day of healing.
Pastor David went on to preach a very powerful message to his congregation about the POWER
OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS. Pastor David had been touched and encouraged by the Lord at the
after the Lord at the ALTAR.
A mother with an AUTISTIC daughter also requested prayer for her daughter. Hannah and I were
both able to pray for her daughter in the parking lot as we were about to leave. Another opportunity
came to Hannah and I as we were gathering Hannah's guitar from the sanctuary. There was an older
teen boy that opened up to us as we were leaving. He had on heavy metal music shirt. He thanked
me for sharing and told me that Hannah's story of rescue really inspired him. He told me that he
deals with manic depression and cutting as Hannah's story had similar parts to what he's experienced.
He was open to Hannah and I praying with him. She and I were able to voice prayers over the young
man. Please continue to pray for First Assembly of Mangham's pastor and their congregation as they
move forward in the days ahead.
